Public ridicule is ridiculing someone or their work in a public way. I'm not. I'm discussing ideas I heard on Mibba from users who are either shit-talking dead girls or are perpetuating harmful stereotypes. But I'm not discussing the users or shit-talking them. It's no different than the shit we say in the 'things you hate in stories' or 'things you don't like about Mibba thread'.

Clearly the idea of what you hate/dislike had to come from somewhere.

I would have loved to "back it up", but not when you're putting words in my mouth. Then there's no point, because no matter what words I use you're going to substitute them with your own. That's pretty moot. And whether it's public ridicule or not might be a matter of opinion...

It's not public ridicule either. I didn't say who said these things or where I found them, simply that they were said. And I didn't ridicule the person, I took major issue with what was said.

You don't have to discuss shit with me if you don't want, but coming into my journal, dropping a loaded comment, and then refusing to back it up isn't all that nice either.

I don't believe I called it bashing, again you're putting words in my mouth. I'm done discussing anything, because there's not really any point to it.

It's not bashing. I don't see how not making someone happy is breaking a rule. People post a lot of 'shit on Mibba that pisses me off' journals.

Defending dead children is stooping to the level of shit-talking them?

The blog wasn't aimed at specific users, but things they said (that I've heard said all over the place). Hearing them on Mibba just made me especially angry. I hear this shit everywhere and I've heard it on Mibba before from other users, too.

    I tried to be very vague because I'm not shit-talking users, I'm shit-talking shit-talking.

Although I don't particularly agree with the opposite side I find the blog itself to be provoking, insulting and definitely stooping to their level.

    @ Neon_Skies_Killjoy
And it's respectful to write a blog aimed at people who can most definitely read it? It should be taken privately if there's an issue, they shouldn't be publicly ridiculed.

It really pisses me off when people are called "fake" cutters. And I feel really strongly about this, because of personal experience.

I started off as a person who was experimenting, and I guess you could say that I was somewhat cutting for attention. It was stupid. And I regret it. It was something that I did to draw attention to myself. And I didn't necessarily have anything that was drawing me to cut.

But it turned into a serious addiction for me. Before I knew it, I was cutting almost every day. Just to cope. It really began to turn serious. I started to lie about it, I wasn't just wearing my cuts out in the open anymore and wanting people to see my cuts (which was stupid, it seemed like a good idea at the time). Self-harm just became something that I needed.

And it became even more serious over the next couple of years. I'm still dealing with it. It's not something that is going to go away for me. And to think that my "fake" cutting became "real" cutting.

Sorry, I am so bad at wording things. And my comment is just kind of random rambling. But it just really pisses me off that people label "fake" cutters and "real" cutters. Because "fake" cutting is just as serious and just as real as any other person who self-harms. They are not anymore safe.

I dunno... there is so much that I want to say. This is just a topic that is really personal for me and that I have a lot of feelings about.

And this girl wasn't even talking about attempted suicide, but three girls who killed themselves and are no longer breathing.

After reading this I double check the title, and I was a little shock that this happened here on Mibba. I'm not going to judge whoever that is, because I never seen his/her work that pissed you off. But the whole point/message of this blog – in my understanding – is to never judge people immediately, and that, we must get to know them well first. Though, on the part were you said that suicide victims are “attention-seeking”, I must agree with you that they are not. Because I am one of them, and during that time, I was planning it to be quietly, so that no one will know or it will be to late for them because I am already dead. The reason for my suicidal attempt was because I feel unloved by my parents and the hardship of life. For me, during that time, it was hard already. I know some people have much bigger problems, but my emotional state that time was weak, and I guess I lack of guidance in that department. But I confess to a priest, to my 2 cousins, and to my sister. They gave me light in my dark heart and in my dark mind. It really helps, because I’m living right now and writing/posting poems and stories here on Mibba. One great solution – in my opinion – is to tell someone your problem/s because they could help you and it lifts your spirit even just a little. Also, writing is a great way to let out your frustrations or problems. I hope I didn’t offend anyone. If I did, I’m really sorry. I really don’t like fighting with people. I hope this help, too.

I second Amy's question, too. How do you know they're mentally stable? Did their mental health professional disclose that information to you or do you have a medical degree?
This is such a serious topic but I couldn't help but laugh at this comment. It's so true.

Anyway - my two cents worth - nobody causing themselves physical harm is in a right state of mind, whether that'd be classed as mentally unstable or not. Cutting, as you said in your blog, isn't the 'normal' behaviour in society and a cutter has a reason for doing so whether it be for attention or not. I think that cutting for attention can sometimes be worse than this so-called "real" cutting because it's a desperate plead for attention and if someone is getting that, it's really awful and sad. This blog was so right, it wasn't even funny.

I just realized it's in plural.. I only meant their leader. I'm not even kidding. At the end of the year, she was complaining about how prudish all of the guys are but calling the girls prudes when they aren't willing to do anything to them...

I understand you have negative emotions towards these "popular" people at your school, but calling them sluts is slut-shaming and I feel it's just as bad as trying to differentiate between "real" cutters and "fake" cutters. This isn't an attack, though, I just want to spread awareness.

Wow, I don't get how someone can sit there and think that they know what is going through someone else's head. I mean, maybe they said it was for attention so that way they don't have to go into details about why they are cutting. Just like when a friend asked me why I self-harmed when I was fourteen/fifteen, I couldn't tell them why it was embarrassing, I didn't want them to know about that part of my life, I didn't even feel comfortable posting it on the internet, and I still don't feel comfortable talking about it. Just because you think you know someone, doesn't mean you really do. Just like none of my family aside from two people knew about me. Labeling someone as fake is just awful.

I just... so agree with this. We had an entire debate on this in English a year ago. The popular sluts said the whole "fake" thing and then they said cutting in general was for whores, and I'm one of those people who's quiet but friends with everyone and I have a friend who thought of cutting until I talked her out of it. I normally don't talk but I flew out of my seat and yelled at her about the entire thing and the teacher and everyone agreed with me and my friend was in the class too.. and they all said I was right. I just.. completely agree with you on this.
