Since I handwrite, I'll usually dedicate around ten pages to a chapter so that it's still substanial enough to be a chapter when typed, but it isn't super long. Now, my pride and joy (that I need serious help with...) is Terra, and the chapters of that one tend to vary.
I guess not everyone can handwrite. I know that, once I get on a computer, I'll get distracted, so I have to have it all written already. It's just one of those idiosyncrasies.
I haven't actually! I know that I write really well in libraries, but I've never gone to a cafe. XD

When it comes to setting out chapters, I like to think about what should be in that chapter and then dedicate probably 1 1/2 to 2 pages to a topic... but that's just me! My book is kinda fast-paced so it needed move along smoothly without being too... choppy?
I've actually tried handwriting a plan out... write out the chapters and ending, but as I wrote it began to change and I drifted away from the plan that had somehow made its way to the bottom of a drawer!
Have you tried going to a cafe and writing?

Yeah, I've found the same; I tend to write more at school than at home. Maybe it's just that I'm out of the house, but I always seem to go brain-dead for ideas as soon as I get home.

I have the exact opposite problem, actually! I always write with a specific ending and beginning in mind, then realize that I have no freaking idea about how I'm going to get there. I actually had a teacher suggest to me that I number the pages and section them out into different chapters so that I can write the chapters as I get ideas for them (I handwrite everything first, because I think it works better).

I hope I can get published, too. XD I know how hard it is to get your name out there, trust me; I run one organization and one lunch protest. I'm essentially a political activist with a literary bent...at seventeen, so I'm bound to have no life as an adult. XD

So I find that I tend to write more when I'm at work Laughing ... which I know, I know... I should be working buuuuuut... the life at home is too distracting (t.v, boyfriend, family etc) to concentrate.
When it comes to writing - proofread it, like, 10 times! I read through my book a few times and picked up on some mistakes, haha! Now I should have all of them! Plus I'm not a planner... I tend to write as I go with no specific ending in mind - so reading through it helps to fix up contradictions!
I really look forward to reading your book and I hope you manage to get it published! It's so super hard to get your name out there - but even if it's taking too long, don't give up!
