Religion and government should be separate, yes. However, there are still people who are Christians who make judgments and this piece was meant for them, not legislation makers or Atheists...

I dont think religion should have to do anything with it because not all gays are christians, so why should (for example) an atheist be discriminated by a religion he/she doesnt believe in?

Also, if being gay is a sin and that's why they shouldnt be married, then I can't get married because I'm a liar.

Finally some one on the same wavelength as me. I'm a Christian and I honestly believe that everyone has a right to love, no matter their sexual orientation

Yet God said that He gave us each other as a gift. Yet Paul says 'reject God's gift because marriage is only for weak people'. Paul also says so many anti-woman things. I really just hate the man.

I'm a Christian and one of my best friends is gay. I'm 100% all for loving who you love mostly because it's none of my dang business and has nothing to do with my life.

The only thing in this journal I'm not really down with is the depiction of Paul. Paul is basically my favorite guy ever. I've read a lot about him, studied him a lot. He wasn't saying it's bad to be married or he didn't like it when people were married, he was just highlighting the many benefits he saw in being single, which I think are rad. When you're single, you have a lot more time to dedicate your life to Christ and you can be more free to travel for missions and such. He was just pointing out things like that.

And I believe that since God is made up of the same energy and is part of the sheer energy I believe is creator to us all, to me I see no contradiction.

To me, this fills in all the holes and answers most of the questions.

That's an intriguing way of looking at it. At least for me I can't see it that way, because to suggest that God only exists because I believe he does almost makes it seem that I created God. And I believe God created everything that exists. (I'm not a Creationist, though just to clarify.)

To me, a god/deity only exists if people believe they do and it creates some sort of energy around the idea/deity. The universe and the belief of individuals are what makes a god/gods reality, in my opinion. This stems from my belief that energy is aware at the power that binds/creates everything.

We are all part of it and because of that, almost anything is possible. I believe that with enough concentration, you can actually change the way energy behaves.

It's a mixture of science and faith, to a degree. I just . . . I know there's so much outside of this world and with not even everyone in this world believing in the Christian God (but most people believe in something, whether that be energy or a god) that specific gods aren't universal, but belief in something greater than yourself is.

You made sense, I think :) I actually like discussing different viewpoints respectfully, I find it fascinating. Though maybe I'm a tad narrowminded because even though I agree all religions have some truth in them I can't say that all religions can be true to different people. Imo, they're either true or not. :)But, that's just me.

According to the Bible, Jesus had to be all these things. I'm sure you've seen me see in any of our debates say that I take the Bible with a grain of salt.

But I think everyone should believe what they believe to be true. We're all different and I think our true faith/beliefs are as unique as we all are.

In my multiple universe/paralell worlds belief, it simply would be illogical for God to exist in all planets/dimensions/universes. But on this earth, I think He's a manifestation of that which binds us all.

Then again, I think all gods are real. It's just which you choose to pick/not pick.

I don't think this means your viewpoints are wrong by any means, simply not right for me.

(I hope that makes sense. Trying to define my faith/beliefs is difficult because I don't know everything and it's always evolving.)

That's an interesting view of Christianity and not one I identify as being...true to Christianity. But, if it works for you. :). Though I believe Jesus was a real person, a human being, but He is God too. I also don't think all religions tell the same basic story. And I believe God is outside of the universe. He created everything, I believe. Including the universe. For me, God [or relationship with God] is the destination. In my belief, not opinion, God is beyond everything.

Anyway, that's what I believe, and that to me is what Christianity is. :) And that's what the Bible says. Also, Jesus had to be human and divine to save us from our sins. [He wasn't an alien, imb]

I think all religions tell the same basic story with different characters and that the little things we read in the Bible (details) are probably fabricated. I believe in all paths to God, but I also believe that God is just part of something bigger. I'm a Christian because He is what I use to identify/connect with the something bigger. God isn't the destination to me, just help on the journey. There's more. God is only on Earth, imo.

I believe that something akin to Jesus dying on the cross for my sins happened, but maybe not those specifics. I also don't know if Jesus was human, divine, alien, etc.

    I don't know a lot.

Again we'll have to agree to disagree. I've read that the prophecies Jesus fulfilled could not have been fulfilled by anybody else. And Jesus is the Messiah. As a Christian you should believe that. [No offense meant, I've just never heard of any Christian who questions the prophecies of Jesus in the Bible and I find that puzzling]

I'm suggesting that it's quite easy to prophecy something if you know the outcome.

Everything points to a Messiah, not necessarily Jesus. There is no evidence that says there wasn't someone else who fit those. There are also prophecies that were not fulfilled.

I'm not sure what you're getting at? The Old Testament has many prophecies pointing to Jesus. And EVERYTHING in the Bible points to Him somehow. Also, we have to remember the Bible was written in a time and place that is different to what life is like now. Broad principles still apply, specific laws and mandates don't.

Yes, but the beginning of a lot of books (fictional and nonfictional alike) have foreshadowing in the beginning.
