Things I hate about Mibba: Copycats. - Comments

  • >.> You shoould definitely screen shot everything just in case and have your friend wait a bit before posting a chapter to see what the other user does.

  • "What my friend usually writes up to 7000, by the way"

    Well then. Happy face

  • @ cotton.
Sorry, I know that's kinda what you said, but I just found it pretty strange too :S

  • @ I feel insane
    Yeah that's what I'm wondering.

  • Not enough proof? What more do you need? Especially when you have dates of when stuff gets posted. :/

  • Oh crap, Airi is right. I completely forgot that it's against the rules to confront another user on if they break the rules. I am so very sorry.

  • That seems a little strange that would be what they told her. Did she report it to an admin or a story editor? If she reported it to a story editor, you should definitely go to an admin, preferably Audrey or Kurtni. Plagiarism is usually taken very seriously on Mibba since it is illegal and all. Whatever you do though, please do not confront the user. That will only get your friend in trouble, we are not supposed to confront other users when they break the rules. That's what the staff is here for. I really hope you get this resolved soon.

  • Wow, not enough proof? Have you tried confronting the girl, or holding off publishing for awhile to see if she publishes anything, too? That way you can say that she waits x amount of time AFTER your friend posts her chapter before the copy-cat posts theirs? I hope that made sense... but that is awful. :/

  • ChazlySilver:
@Bonkers She did report them, they said there wasn't enough proof to report them further. Which annoyed her majorly. She's an amazing writer, and no one should copy that like this girl has. It isn't fair, she writes huge chapters that are heart pumping-ly brilliant and then this girl pounces and copies her. It's terribly annoying.
Not enough proof? :O Hmm, I would think that, that would be all the proof one needs since it was copied word for word. Maybe screenshot the dates on which they were published? But then again, you wouldn't need to do that because the dates can be viewed by everyone. Hmm, this sucks. :/

  • @cotton Ah, I see what you mean, but I guess since the copycats are a part of Mibba in a way. Like the rest of us. But yeah, i'll change the title.

  • I think the title of this journal should be 'Things I don't like' or 'The stupid things people do'. I'm sure you didn't mean that mibba sucks because people are copy cats. But that's the message I get from the title. There'll be copy cats every where you go :).

But I understand your frustration. I'm not sure what I would do if someone copped my story. Well, I'd probably feel kinda smug, but frustrated all the same XD.

  • Well, if it was nearly word for word/plot for plot you should, or get your friend to, try reporting it to get the issue resolved. :/ No one likes to have their hard work ripped off. I'm pretty sure that the staff here is really amazing at making sure to check these things out if reported, that is.

Don't see why people do it though... I mean, it isn't their work so I don't understand what satisfaction they can get from it.
