Sorry, now that I read back through it, it's not the clearest thing, but I tried to say something like that (having a button to switch back and forth between your site-provided and cutom profiles on the page, like the story layouts, for those that want it) when I said 'It's related to the reason I like this website's 'story layout' feature so much(...)if you don't like someone else's layout, you can change it back to the default to read.

What I think would be really cool is if we could have a similar feature for the profile layouts. Like maybe we could choose whether we want our default profile (the page people come to when they click the username on comments or stories or whatever else the user creates) to be either our custom or site-provided profile, maybe with an option to switch back and forth, though I'm not sure how they can do that without completely screwing up the coding of the layouts already there. Maybe however that little 'show comments' popup appears at the bottom corner of story pages.'

I don't know, I just feel like it's a bit pointless to bother with the customization process because, like you said, most people are just looking for stories and updates and whatnot, so there's really no reason anyone would really need to look at the custom profile, unless they REALLY wanted to read those extra five lines of bio for some reason. It's the same with stories - I'm not going to waste twenty or so minutes making the perfect layout if no one's going to read the story and see it, you know?

To be honest, though, I've never had much of an issue with links. As long as I'm able to find them easily, I don't really care where they are. I also liked how a lot of profiles (independent website-made ones, anyways) had an option to feature some of your stories on your profile. I don't know, that was just really enjoyable for me. :)

I think there is a misunderstand here, either I'm misunderstanding you or you're misunderstanding me. xD With the way your blog is worded, it sounded to me like you want the ability to choose whether or not to have a default or custom profile. If that's the case, that's not at all what I was talking about. What I was saying was if this site did implement your idea, users should have the ability to switch the page back to the default like we can do on stories. For example, if I viewed your page and you had a custom layout, I would like the ability to change it back to the default when I'm viewing your page. Like how if I viewed a story of yours and didn't like the layout, I could easily click a button so the default layout would show whenever I looked at it. I hope that made sense. XD

I don't really see how people think this site's new layout looks a businesses. To me, it looks nothing like a business site would at all. Mibba is a lot more organized now, which is probably what I liked best about the change. The old layout was really messy, it's just more organized and clean is all. ^^ And you can still add personality to your pages. We can still customize our profiles, the only difference is someone just needs to click one small, simple extra button to view it. Besides that, we have a ton of things on this website that we can customize. You are allowed a "personality" on your pages because there is a lot we're allowed to customize.

Oh, definitely. Just make it all beautiful. x3 Though my idea of 'beautiful'...I can see it now, and I love it already.

That would be pretty cool. Maybe have an option to either use a code from a premade-layout site or create your own. I'd have so much fun with that, haha.

You know what they should do? We should be allowed to make our own layouts. The same way we would make a story layout or a blog layout. Only for profiles. :p That'd be awesome. But I know what you mean, that was pretty darn awesome.

Yes, I actually did suggest adding a button to switch back and forth between personal and site layouts as with story layouts in my blog, though maybe it wasn't all that clear, I apologize. I do like the new Mibba layouts, they're very organized and easy-to-read, but...I don't know. It just all feels very businesslike and impersonal to me. Maybe that's what some people are going for, but I just prefer to add a bit of personality to my pages. ^.^

I prefer it this way because frankly, a lot of users on this site had annoying layouts. It isn't very enjoyable to go to a profile and find that the navigation has been moved from the top to god knows where on the page or to see bright, cursive, small hard-to-read fonts. v.v If someone wants to see a person's profile, they can still go see it by clicking one extra button and I think that's good enough for right now. The only way I'd like for the custom profiles to come back upon clicking a profile is if they added a "default layout" button like the stories have so those of us who don't want to deal with it don't have to. It would be a happy medium for all users I think, though I don't know if it's possible with the coding in that area of the site. I'd like that feature to be added to the blogs as well, some blog layouts are really annoyingly hard to read. Besides, the way it's set up now is much easier for me to navigate. Normally when I go to someone's profile, I'm just looking for their stories or their blogs and I like not having to search a page for those links because they're always in the same place.

I can see why the change did upset people but I don't really have a problem with the change personally. I always made simple layouts and never really got the point in those big elaborate ones some people had. I'm sure there is a happy medium that would satisfy most users (since someone will always be upset), but it'll be a while before this site finds that medium. ^^

I know what you mean. I've taken a look around at all of the old layout sites that I used to get my layouts from and those that haven't shut down are completely inactive. It's kind of sad, really. :/
To be honest, I had literally just changed my layout when the site switched. I had changed the coding earlier, then I went to go put all the text and links in, pressed submit, and bam - 'Error', and there was new Mibba. And since there was no real need for the profiles anymore, mine is still half-finished.
I resented new Mibba for that one for a while, I think.

I was so mad when I found out we wouldn't have custom profiles as our main profiles after the switch. I had literally just perfected making layouts on my own and I was going to open a layout site... and now it's useless.
