    If you wanna get big and build functional strength quickly, free weights are what you need. Even if you take a PT lesson to get your form right on the big lifts it's worthwhile. I do a couple of things on machines but most of my lifting's with weights.

    But yeah it's definitely the easiest way to go about it. Unless they're major cunts they're gonna pick up the pace a bit so you're not waiting too long to use stuff.

    You are right I shouldn't make such an accusation. I guess I was still in shock that he would flip over something like that. I never took in any possible real reason he was short tempered that day.

    Thanks for the advice, the how many sets you have left is a great and polite way saying I am waiting for you to be done. I heard so many horror stories about free weights that why I never used them.

  • You shouldn't imply he's on roids. It's not a fair accusation. Just because he's bigger than you doesn't mean he's on something.

    Having said that, you should have just asked him to wipe down. It's not hard, even if he is big, if he's dumb enough to start a fight over something so simple he'll get kicked out. That's how gyms are. Hygiene is a big thing. And if you're waiting on him to finish on machines, just go up and say something along the lines of "Hey man, how many more sets have you got left?" so he knows someone's waiting.

    Also, don't use too many machines mate, free weights are the go.
