Sister's Senior Year... More Problems for Me Then Her... - Comments

  • Sometimes it's better to being living in a good shadow than a bad one. All younger siblings feel this. I have two older brothers who haven't done much with their lives thus far and I never hear the end of it. There's so much wait on my shoulders. The three grandkids who have graduated.. none of them have gone to college, so now everyone is expecting me to do well.

And when I do well, I don't get anything in return because it's expected of me. No "good job!" or "that's great!". When everyone else does well, my family almost throws them a flipping party. Straight As get me nothing when my brothers are finally getting jobs and my cousin just got promoted at the grocery store.

So just hang in there. I could be worse. Just tell your parents that you'd like to get a little recognition too. I'm sure they'll understand. This is a big year for your sister, so everyone is probably just a little wrapped up in it.
