Mikey Way - Comments

I'm not "judging" so much as offering an alternate opinion. If it affects you this badly maybe you should detach yourself from these strangers who make alright music. I dunno. I respect a lot of people I don't know as well, but those who do more than MCR in my opinion.

How would you know in any way that the "bad thing" that Mikey did doesn't contradict the band's message? It does. Like I said, they've always stood for marriage and respecting women, and cheating on his wife doesn't really fit into that does it? And also, they're not strangers to me in a way, I'm pretty sure whatever public knowledge they let out, I know about. Maybe that's weird, and maybe it's normal. I don't know. I have a lot of respect for those guys, and you're judging my life and how much I respect them without even knowing me. You don't have a clue really.

I'm not here to start an argument so much as to offer an alternative opinion. Why get so invested in the lives of a bunch of strangers who happen to be famous? It doesn't change their music or how it makes you feel. That's all that should matter. I'm sure plenty of my heroes and biggest influences have done bad things, doesn't mean the things that I respect about them changes (unless of course the bad thing they do contradicts that). I just think you're all getting far too caught up in something that really has no actual effect on your life, other than the effect you impose upon yourself.

Look, I don't really care if you only like a few songs. You don't really like the band, that's okay, but you don't need to come on here and insult people who do. You don't know what you're talking about. If you like Nine Inch Nails, and KNOW about them, go talk about them.

Just like I listen to a few Panic! At The Disco songs, but I'm not really a fan.
So I would not go on a post about them and start an argument, because I don't know all the facts. I am, however, a fan My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and Bullet For My Valentine and, when it comes to those bands, I know what I'm talking about.

The fact that you didn't even know Gerard Way is the lead singer means you don't even have a basic knowledge of the band, and you don't need to have one if you don't want to, just don't go around starting arguments when you don't have all the facts.

Badass song, there were a few other good ones on that album. Good upbeat stuff that you could party/work out to. Solid stuff. Their earlier albums didn't do it for me. If I want bleak depressing shit I'd rather listen to Nine Inch Nails or something lol

I was mentioning the whole not fitting in in response to someone else who was telling me I don't fit in here or belong or whatever because I wasn't a "real" fan. Which I thought was ironic as the message a lot of MCR fans seem to express is that they don't fit in anywhere else so they sort of stick together. Which is okay to an extent, I won't get started on my thoughts on that. I just thought the attitude she was displaying was quite the contrast to the general message that these sort of fan groups try to present.

    You're unbelievable,
    Uh, so unbelievable.
    Uh, you ruin everything.
    Oh, you better go home.

Dude, there's no need to be rude. We don't fit in anywhere else, so what? Why does that matter? We have each other, and that's what makes the fan base stronger - we understand each other. But that's totally irrelevant. If you're not a huge fan, and honestly I couldn't care less, why are here arguing about something that so clearly irrelevant to you? Stop arguing on a blog post and grow up, because nobody really cares if you don't like MCR all that much.

Oh wow, I feel so bad that I'm not a part of your exclusive little club. Isn't half the reason all you MCR fangirls flock together due to the fact that you felt like you didn't fit in elsewhere? All the other groups and factions decided you weren't good enough to be part of their little cliques? It's not particularly nice to be putting other people in that position. It doesn't bother me on a personal level, just something for you to think about. I'll be fist pumping to Planetary (Go!) with all the other "cool" kids. :D

A "real" fan. Do I need to be a "real fan" to enjoy a few of their songs? If being a "real fan" means getting way too caught up in their personal lives and relying far too heavily on their songs for emotional stability, then I'm happy to be a casual fan.

For your information, the lead singer is Gerard Way.

And, since you're obviously not a real fan of the band and don't understand them or their message, why are you posting on here?

If people are relying on a band of strangers to save their lives, they need to get their shit together. I don't dislike them as a band, their first few albums were kinda lame but they picked it up a bit with their most recent album. Whoever the singer is isn't a particularly good singer, but he has a cool voice. But for real, music can help you cope with things yeah, I get that. I've had particular songs help me during rough times, but I wouldn't cite any band as being the ones who "saved my life". Either seek professional help or learn to rely on yourself.

  • First let me say that I love this band, and Mikey for that matter, and this isn't going to change that.

And secondly, I think we should wait until the full story to come out before we pass judgment on anyone.
Because we don't know the full story yet. You've said Alicia is perfect for Mikey, but I've been hearing a lot about how it was a VERY unhappy marriage. In fact, I've heard that Alicia cheated on Mikey first, I don't know if its true or not, and I'm not saying that gives him an excuse, because it doesn't. I'm just saying we don't know everything that's going on in their relationship.
Yes, Mikey shouldn't have cheated. If he was unhappy he should have gotten a divorce first, but I'm not going to say he's a bad guy. He probably just made a mistake, like every human has.

    @ ShotToRemember.
I think Gerard will stand by Mikey, they've always been very close and really I'd be kind of disappointed in Gerard if he didn't.

    @ The Zac
Who the hell are you to say what they have or haven't done?
You don't have a clue how many people they have helped. Their music means a lot to people. A lot of those songs that you called "whining stuff" have helped save people lives, and they didn't get into it for money, Gerard said he didn't want them to be remembered as a band that made a lot of money, but be one that made a difference.

And they have. They give people hope, let them know they're not alone, and taught us how to fight no matter how hard or messed up life gets.

This band saves lives, and I'd say that is impressive.

  • I agree with this 100%, except maybe for the part about Gerard standing with Mikey. Gerard has always been very pro not abusing women that way.

Or maybe I'm just saying this because I need something to hold onto and completely require the visualization of Gerard beating the shit out of Mikey.

    Seriously. Picture it. It's beautiful.

Oh, and I'm also devastated for them. It made me cry so effing hard. Alicia is such an amazing woman, and my hero. Why he would give that up is a question I'll never understand the answer to.

I, too, question my heroes, and I'm hating myself for it.

Eh, Danger Days was kinda cool. More upbeat and less whinging stuff. But nah I don't think they've really done that much. Not compared to other people. I admire people who have done more actual stuff. More real action. Who, rather than just singing about things they want girls to like, have actually gone out and done something impressive. If I could do exactly what MCR do and make as much money I totally would though.

  • Coming from the standpoint of someone who has mutual respect for the band (I like some of their songs), stuff like this happens all the time among celebrities and quite frankly, that girl was dumb, stupid, etc for doing it, and although I'm not defending Mikey, one could only speculate that he might've cheated on his wife because there was something missing in their relationship (maybe?), but that still doesn't mean that people can talk trash about the celebrities like that. Yes, he made a huge mistake in being unfaithful to his wife instead of at least talking out any problem he has with her. Yes, that girl that posted the evidence of them having an affair wasn't very smart for doing that, but the fans saying they hate Mikey now really shouldn't be saying that because there's always going to be stuff like this happening in life. I know that MCR wrote songs about being faithful and being respectful in general, but that doesn't automatically make Mikey a bad person overall. He's human, a lot of people do this kind crap all the time, but that still doesn't excuse the fact that he did and that he's acting like a douche over it. But keep in mind that Mikey IS an adult and that he can do pretty much everything, especially since he has money. What the fans say won't sway him or guilt him into reconciling with Alicia.

  • Haha good. But I honestly have to say as long as it doesn't affect the band then I'm ok becuz I don't think I could go a day without crying my eyes out if Mikey left. Maybe Lyn-Z could play bass for them. Haha no jk ! But yeah I'm disappointed in him for being a hypocrite. But if he's happy then he's Hapoy. I still love u Alicia. :D
