So it's not really just a media problem it is societies problem and that really means its our individual problem. People don't have any values to give their kids. books like The Corrosion of Character by Richard sennet show these diminishing values and why. This economy and society is all about moment and temporary and without loyalty to anyone because we keep moving. Friendships are scattered and left all the time. I find this terrifying. Something's wrong. Very messed up.

That's bad. Rapists should be punished. That should be what's advertised and dwelled on. The punishment will make others realize how horrible it is to do that to someone.

Well when the porn industry is heavily invested in things and is the reason we have high speed sound and visuals on our regular computers... The sexual obsession is already everywhere. Just look at mibba. It's a constant call to feed desires and ignite them.

Marriages break up so much nowadays and a lot of its is because of cheating on the spouses. We are constantly bombarded with images that there is always something better. We become so focused on accumulating more, getting what's better and we never stop too much to be grateful for what we have. What might have been a small problem before is ignited and magnified by the media, just look at the trailer of Temptation. I happened upon it watching superman trailers... Everything just turns back to this. Cheating on we spouse this woman is shown as innocent and trapped and still beautiful a f desired. The media and movies mix the profane with everything and cross all limits. For entertainments sake or whatever. But at some level I goes into people's minds. Racist ideas like the black man in movies always dies first sit easily with us. We don't notice. It's okay.
They use extreme stereotypes to make a scene easily recognizable.

People fight stereotypes. People fight racism. Movies keep using them. We watch media and movies so much and don't realize the ideas we internalize. If we see a man shot dead on tv, no big deal, seen that a hundred times.

But truly there is something very wrong about that. Children cry at these images and that's when people realize. We are in a culture that focuses on money. And as my economics professor said the best type of person is someone who had bad health, chain smoker, in a long divorce and is depressed because so many doctors and companies are employed to take care of that and make money.

America? CNN, Fox, NBC, all the major news channels that misconstrued this case to show pity for the rapists OR were incompetent enough to broadcast the victim's name on air which they were not supposed to do.

Yes media is disgusting and twists our thoughts in weird ways and propagates certain beliefs over others.

I don't know much about politics but look at how they treated Ron Paul, he was logical and consistent and spoke about reducing debt and then he disappeared from office after that and was bothered about random things from the media that didn't matter at all.

Ignorance is rampant. Values are withering. Beliefs and principles are seen as history too often.

Just look at movies and you have all the weird fantasies and twisted values displayed. A man who sleeps around is seen as a great person or leader and a woman who does that is seen as a valuable asset to a team. Sexual desires are put where they shouldn't be. It's disgusting. And football being so valued over the girl is horrible.

You're right men should be taught how to control themselves and the media should stop endorsing all the weird things they do. Literally naked women are always available to stare at even on cream ads. That's sick and wrong. So why can't they have all the other girls that easily too? That's a question probably running in their heads.

But still it doesn't mean women should wear anything. I'm not saying women should cover up in layers and layers to protect men, but there's nothing wrong with protecting yourself in a sex hungry society. Obviously the values thing is first, men need to learn to respect women.

But with a billion dollar porn industry and Hollywood getting more sexual, where will anyone learn that?

    Lol love away. :D

Sorry, I just have one question: when you said "its really sick what happened to the girl and the guys" you don't mean its sick the guys were found guilty, do you? IMO they deserved it, and honestly they got off pretty easily. They really deserved far worse.
