"[MCR] betrayed me" "Why is [MCR] doing this to me? WAH WAH WAH" - Comments

  • @ Tickle Me Sara
It's really selfish of them to be threatening suicide and self-harm. A band doesn't last forever, but their legacy does, and I wish people would understand that instead of acting so rashly. The band members probably just want to settle down with their family. And they don't need the band to survive. The band's music helped them through tough times but they can survive without the band being active. It all comes down to the power/strength of the human mind.

  • The worst is the fans threatening suicide and self harm. Like this band spent their entire careers advocating against that encouraging kids to love themselves and not harm or kill themselves. And to threaten the band with these actions is completely disrespectful. It's not going to change their mind, they aren't dead, just moving on and we need to accept that decision. As a die hard fan of the band these statements dishearten me.

Same. It annoys me though; that certain fans try to make this break up seem so horrible and evil when it isn't. The songs will always be there. That much everyone should be thankful for.

  • I completely agree. I'm miserable as hell right now, obivously, but my veiw of the whole thing is, would you rather them stop now, when they feel it is time for them to stop, or rather they produce music that gets progressively worse and worse because the band dont give a shit about it?
And the whole "They betrayed us" thing! Gah! That is anoyying the shit out of me! As you say, first up, they are people and secondly, they dont owe you guys shit! If you want to look at it in its simplest terms, they produced a product that us guys then enjoyed, how in that process does that equate to them owing you absolutely anything? It doesnt!
I like to think its just the enitial shock reaction to the news, but anoyyingly, I fear not. I really think some of the fans are actually that selfish and that they've dehumanised the band to such a massive extent - Thinking of those lines, its hardly suprising that MCR wanted to quit while their ahead, if the majority of the fanbase veiws them in such a way.

Granted I'd be highly upset if A7x ever decided to disband.

A7X should just be like Aerosmith and Metallica and the like and just never stop. Be old man rockers A7X, we will still love you tehe

  • For real though, I completely agree with this blog. I honestly wasn't sad at all when I heard that they'd broken up. I feel kind of bad for the people that really like them but I just didn't really care all that much.

". . . but that doesn't warrant saying other people have ruined your life. "

Exactly. The whole point of this blog. Not to attack people, demean people's personal issues, just to protect the (ex)members of MCR and their decisions.

  • I agree. It does suck that they are breaking up, but from my personal opinion, I didn't care too much for their newer stuff. It's really no skin off my teeth if they break up or not. I hardly listen to them anyways. Granted I'd be highly upset if A7x ever decided to disband, but that doesn't warrant saying other people have ruined your life.

  • @ kuba.
I really do understand. It's a painful, inevitable decision, and I hope that at least they're happy.

    sar.............casm?

  • I am heart broken. But kind of glad at the same time. They've achieved something that so many bands won't. So I just consider this break up a mission accomplished for them. I can't listen to any of their songs right now though, I really don't want to start crying.

Kids just don't think about musicians as real people. They want them to be there when they need them or want them, but rarely do the fans understand when these musicians cannot be there or need people there themselves. It's all a maturity thing, I think.

  • god damn. wow. this is one of the most profound statements ever made on the internet.

  • @ sempiternal.
thanks so much for understanding. MCR can't be a band forever, but they'll surely live on forever.
    March 24th, 2013 at 02:33am
  • Besides, don't most of them have kids? I know Frank and Gerard do. That's half the band. Being on the road like that had to be taxing on them because they were probably missing their families and seeing their kids grow up! You know the wives and children didn't always go with them. They're grown men with wives and families that need them.

    I don't blame them whatsoever. That's hard.
