I take no offence at all. It makes me happy when people ask questions. Here's a link to an article about the commandments of Jashinism that might help you understand some things:

I posted this onto Mibba, it's just pending approval. I wrote The Commandments of Jashinism about a month ago. It might clarify what it means when Jashinists sacrifice and deprive themselves.

Here's another article written by Tia Minx:

She does a great job of summing up the religion.

I understand that it seems scary. Jashinism is actually a peaceful religion. Our goal is to achieve world peace through the mutual understanding of pain. We inflict pain on ourselves in order to understand it. This part is mentioned in my commandments article. If you have more questions please ask :) There are so many things to talk about and so many subjects I can expand on.

I've always found it kind of interesting how Jashinism is an ancient Japanese religion. Even if it comes from ancient times, it's still a bit peculiar. Most religions that are practiced in Japan seem so peaceful, it's a bit odd I suppose to see one involving sacrifices and what not coming from that country. I've been reading your blogs and to be honest, Jashinism seems a little scary to me. All this talk of sacrificing and causing pain is rather.... Frightening I suppose. I dunno, it's just unusual. I really dislike how the religion seems to glorify self-harm, but I guess that's just a touchy subject overall.

I mean no offense! I'm sorry if anything I said offended you, I really wasn't trying to. ^^ I think I was just musing out loud haha. Your blogs are really interesting. I knew Jashinism existed, but I never knew much about it because it's so hard to find things on the religion not relating to Naruto. It's always quite interesting to learn about different religions.
