wow that does not sound like a best friend let alone a friend at all. People like that are what I call users; they try to keep you down by manipulating you every chance they get. I cut people like that loose with the snap of a finger. Because friends are people that are truly in your life to be there for you; not to bring you down. And this is going to sound cold; but you can not let your family dictate your life; you just can't. My parents used to do the same thing to me and I became depressed and angry. I resented them for it, still do to this day. You don't want that; you are a person and you call the shots when it comes to who you want to be in your life.
