I was able to hold my daughter today. [pictures inside] + are there any other preemie moms on here? - Comments

  • Congrats! You're daughter is absolutely precious and sounds like she's going to be keeping you on your toes as she gets older! Spunky kids usually do Mr. Green The fact that she's breathing on her own and is so full of energy is always a good thing so I'm sure that she'll be just fine :)

  • Ohh so actually I was supposed to be born in December. Hah, but everything's fine. Growing up I had asthma and I still do but it's not as bad. I needed an inhaler and the liquid albuterol, like once in the morning. Sports and all that were hard but running and progressing slowly helped my lungs a lot. it just takes time to get stronger, grow, develop, you know.

  • Congrats on your precious baby!

I was a preemie baby. I was so tiny I could be held with one hand. They, as in my parents, said I needed help breathing but I came off it pretty well. My parents were super cautious taking care of me post hospital, but I don't have any health complications that directly relate to me being a preemie. It really kind of differs from every baby so just keep a close eye on her and pray. <3 My best friend was also a preemie baby whose mother thought she could no longer have children, and she's a tower and amazingly healthy. I believe your daughter has a good chance of living a perfectly healthy life.

  • I'm not a mother, but my aunt had a preemie seven years ago. He's is still small for his age and has health problems, but he is completely okay.

Preemies are expensive to be honest. Many babies have health problems. Like my cousin has really bad allergies and asthma to the point he has to wear a mask. His lungs weren't strong enough. But I'm so happy that your baby has good lungs, that will definitely help. In the long run I know everything is worth it. There is people everywhere who will help you. My aunt got lots of help for her baby. Though, because he was a preemie, her second baby was put on watch the entire pregnancy and even now he's on watch because of is older brother.

Your daughter looks like a fighter. She is beautiful by the way. My cousin was so tiny when born he was only a pound and around the same size of a beanie baby. Like I said, he's still small for seven years old. His brother, who won't be one until December, is already almost the same size of him when he was four. It's lots and lots of doctor visits, but they will be sure she grows normally and be as healthy as possible.

  • Ohh congratz! c: she's so cute.

I was so premature haha, I was born on October 4th but couldn't go home till Thanksgiving.

When I was born I was 2 pounds and 9 oz but went down to 1 pound 6 oz overnight. I needed transfusions and stuff I think my ma said cause my pa have me his blood.
I hope all goes well with your baby girl though! c: toooooo cute.

  • I saw your post last night, but didn't comment because I was on my phone. But wow. I'm so glad that she was born in tact, and that she's breathing okay, and that it sounds like with time she's going to be a healthy little girl. She looks so little and frail and when I saw the picture of her next to someone's hand--I'm assuming yours--I nearly cried at how TINY she was. And in the pictures you posted just now, too.

I'm glad you got to hold her today. I'm glad you get to be with her. I know it's hard, especially not getting to take her home with you, but I'm so glad you have your little girl and she's going to be okay.

I have never had a premie baby myself--in fact, I'm not yet a mother. But I just wanted you to know that I'm really happy that you got to hold your daughter and that she's going to have the opportunity to grow up strong and healthy.
