  • EVERYTHING I'VE WANTED TO RANT ABOUT SUMMED UP IN A NUT SHELL. HOLY HELL.
    Thank you, so much for this blog. You just made my night a little better, and more worth surviving through.
    I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. <3

  • THIS. BLOG. WAS. NEEDED. THANK YOU THANK YOU

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like this <3

    I'm getting fed up as well and it is such a shame to see such talent go unnoticed. My thoughts are if the writer is determined enough, one day people are going to say "I wish I would have gotten to know them / comment on their stories before they were published and famous"

    God Bless!!

    xoxo

  • YAY! Finally another person who writes 5000+ words in a single chapter! I thought I was the only one with a few others that do it on occassions. And this blog. Thank you! Thank you! Arms

    I can just get to 2500 right now, but aside from that, I can't do anything more! I'll get there eventually. We all just need to have a chat and sort it all out, things are getting out of hand.
    Exactly- I mean, yes I think we're all guilty of occasionally not commenting on stuff that we read, but we try at the very least. It really does, I love to see what people think of my stories. It's very reassuring.
    Really? Thank you so much, that's very sweet of you to say. Here, have a hug and some ice cream! Arms

  • @ Zacky Vengeance;

    Haha, my chapters started at 1500-2000 words and have gradually just been growing. I don't really aim for it necessarily, but I try to stick to similar lengths if I can. I completely agree with you. Everyone is fighting everyone and it's ridiculous. Can't we all just get back to what matters, the writing itself?

    As far as silent readers go, like I said, I understand people being busy and stuff and I get that. But there has been a major increase in silent readers lately, and sometimes hearing from just a few people really gives you the push to keep going!

    PS: You are one of the amazing authors that I love if you didn't already know! LOL

  • @ psychotic secrets;

    I can completely agree with that. I don't feel like I'm being attacked if someone is being called Royalty etc, but I just don't get what it is that earns them the title of "Royalty" or "Famous". It implies that they're so much better than everyone else, and like you said, we're not all that different!

  • @ Join the Masquerade

    Like I said, I'm all about pointing someone out if I think they deserve it. But it's frustrating when you put so much work into something and get no feedback whatsoever. I try to leave a lot of comments and let people know if I like their stories, I only feel like its fair if I get the same treatment. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like this Wink

  • @ miss kenzi;

    I totally get that, and I agree. Like I said, most of the people I see listed as "Mibba Royalty" are people that I think are amazing. It's just hard to put out your work and feel like no one's seeing you sometimes. It's like you don't understand what you're doing wrong when you feel like your writing is pretty up to par with a lot of these people.

  • You write 6000-8000 words a chapter?? TELL ME YOUR SECRET! But I agree. I mean, I slept through the drama (woop for time zones) and still, I feel like we all just need to have a sit down and a chat, so we can get all of these feelings out into the open! I defiantly agree with you on the whole comments thing though- as a writer, I see a lot more silent readers cropping up.

  • I agree all the way. There isnt much a thing of "Mibba Royalty". We are all the same and none of us are better than anyone else. Sure, we have friends and people we enjoy, but that just a personal preference. So no one is actually famous. We just have friends. So I think the word should just be thrown out. Mibba royalty and Mibba famous aren't real titles, they are only words that hurt others.

    That is what I believe at least.

  • I'm completely with you on the Mibba Royalty thing because, as I mentioned in another blog somewhere, I was betting it'd make other A7X writers feel left out and discouraged. I guess it's not their intention but it's just so. fucking. unnecessary. to name each and every author you like in separate blogs titled with their usernames. Why can't these things be written in one big blog with a more appropriate title like "authors I'm subscribed to and why". It's so in your face and it's seriously pissing me off and I'm sorry but I had to rant D:

    "Lately though, I’ve kind of been feeling discouraged because it’s hard when you put down a chapter (I know mine are usually 6000-8000 words, but I’m talking a chapter of any length) and you get 0-1 comments when you know that people are reading and subscribing."

    I sometimes wish we didn't know how many readers we had for each chapter because then maybe silent readers would feel more inclined to comment. Like I can understand maybe that some people that don't write would think it's good enough that they came up as a +1 for the readers and that that's a good enough feeling but feedback is just... something else entirely.

  • The term Mibba Royalty is where everyone is going wrong. There isn't a problem with listing your friends, people you admire, or people who you follow. When people start calling someone famous or royalty is when everyone else gets their panties in a wad. Everyone seems to believe that by those labels, they are trying to say the people they list off are better. That wasn't the original intention though, at least not for most!
