oh wow lol that's alot. Umm Russian stories wise I am only aware of the fictional movie of Anastasia but I'm sure you've seen it.

There is a paranormal romance series that has a book or two set in rural Russia and has Russian characters its by Lara Adrian and is called the Midnight Breed series. It has vampires who are at war with each other with those who want to be law abbiding and honourable and those who are blood thirsty and become mad from the high while the vampires also cannot procreate unless they pair with a human fellow who has a special ability unique to her. It has the criminal like feel to it you get when watching crime shows and such but the series is on a global scale. Goes from Boston America, Berlin Germany, Russia, so on.

For the 3rd topic, yes I have as you probably have already noted and I have read many authors do it so I don't see what the harm could be.

For the 4th topic I would love to read a romance story where a woman is drawn back in time and there is romance between her and a ancient Egyptian Pharaoh.

Fifth; I used to enjoy first but I believe I had the same problem as you and am now dabbling in third person.

    sixth; I like medium-to-long chapters

and for lucky 7; I have read anthologies but not on mibba, I've read ones by published authors and I enjoy them save for the point most of them are short stories and I like to enjoy things a little longer than a couple of chapters.
Thank you for the info sweety. Arms

Most of the stories I read/write are set in America, in regards to topic 1. I have written a piece which could be considered to touch on psychological themes, also I have read a few studies on the psychology of serial killers and violence. I do long to delve deeper into psyche for stories. I have never truthfully carried characters through different stories unless they are chapters, but I think that it might be interesting to try something like that.
I used to out-source a lot of fanfiction, but most of the stuff that I adored has now been deleted!
I think that I also prefer first and third person - mainly third but first can be very effective! I like 1000-1500 word chapters, and I do strive to reach at least 1000 words for each chapter!
And anthologies with other authors are interesting, I would like to be involved in more, I think!

    @ Xia;
Okay then. The plotline will be around war and history mostly, a soldier and a geisha on the red light district. That's the idea I have for the moment but who knows, I might change my mind till I start writing it. I'm guilty of doing that a lot. Facepalm

For those type of stories, you can always post a research blog entry about other countries and others will reply to your questions. From there you can get information to make your stories as realistic as possible.

 2. Yes, I have. I'm totally into writing psychological stories. I took many classes in college and I LOVE the subject.
I'm the same. I love psychological stories and I tried once. I just have to try harder next time. tehe

You have to hit me up if you start writing that anthology. I'd love to read it. In Love

The words I use too much are: said, replied, answered.

    1) I like reading stories set in other countries, but I haven't found many that are set in countries I haven't lived in or am familiar with (I lived in Canada for much of my life and now live in the UK). I personally prefer to write stories with what I know so many of my stories are set in London and one is set in a small unnamed town and city in North America.
The only novel I really enjoyed that was set in another country was Deathless by Cathrynne M Valente (I think I spelled her name right). It's a retelling of the Russian myth Koschei the Deathless and Marya Morevena set during the first half of the 20th century. The writing was a bit hard to get used to for me as it is poetic, but the novel is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend it.

    2) I'm currently writing a few that could be considered 'psychological': The Everetts which is set around a family of cursed serial killers, The House of the Rising Sun which is about a deathly ill girl that lives in a 'haunted house', City Kids which has undertones of Stockholm Syndrome and kidnapping, Called River which is about a ghost who cannot remember her past, and Tainted Gray which is about a witch discovering that the world (and magic) isn't black and white.
It is difficult for me to write about these subjects as I don't know much about them personally and it is draining as I don't share the views of the characters or agree with their behaviour and actions.

    3) Basically all of my main characters are featured in other stories as well as locations are in other stories.
For example: the main characters for City Kids are friends of the main love interest in another story of mine: Frankie Henshaw. The diner in which Frankie works at is a frequent place visited in City Kids as well as Called River and The Void aka the Land of the Dead in the Everetts is a HUGE location in both The House of the Rising Sun and Called River.
I enjoy doing this as it gives you an opportunity to show the characters/places from another's point of view plus I like showing how small the world really is.

    4) I don't read too many stories on mibba for me to answer this well.

    5) In terms of POV, it depends on the story. I'm currently working on 6 stories and they are evenly split between 1st and 3ed person. Certain stories I'm not comfortable writing 1st person and vice versa.
And when it comes to novels and storytelling, I don't think there is any professional POV.

    6) I don't like overly long chapters, besides that I like all types as it depends on the story. Some are good with short and sweet and some are good with lengthier chapters. As long as it keeps me interested, it doesn't matter :)

    7) Anthologies have never really been my thing as the most that I read have been short stories and I've never been a fan of short stories.
I have nothing against them though and give kudos to those authors :)

 1. I don't typically write stories about which I'm not familiar. For me, it's a lot of research and then, even if I do the research, I could be totally off base. Things, buildings and attractions can change or be torn down. The internet sometimes isn't up to date on such things, so without risking myself looking like an idiot, no. I don't.
 2. Yes, I have. I'm totally into writing psychological stories. I took many classes in college and I LOVE the subject.
 3. I write original fiction, although I do have FF from ATWT. But to answer your question, no I haven't incorporated other characters into my story. I do love reading it tho. One comes to mind. A7X with supernatural. It was HOT!
 4. Hm, I really haven't explored Mibba that much, so maybe there is something out there that I'm into.
 5. I have written in first person and third. I like either and will read either one too. Omg show don't tell is one of my faults. And words I use too much are: that, is, was. There are more I can't think of at the moment. I'm not sure which pov is used more. I've read published books that are in first person and that seems to be most popular.
 6. I write loooooong chapters-between 3-5thousand. I usually have an outline that I want to write in one chp, and then I get out of hand with my guys (char.) cuz they have so much to say-especially when editing.
 7. I like anthologies. I'm in the middle of writing one with a friend that we'll publish. LOVE dark erotica! High school rel and fights too. Arms back to you and thanks. =)

I have kind of damaged if I may say that skill. I used to do it but from when I found mibba, I've been writing on first.

I hope you enjoy Roses Painted Black if you check it out. Cute

There are some stories on here with short chapters which will take your breath away. I have read quite a few and they all come off so strong, it's amazing. You just haven't found them yet.

Oh, I have to find that story, Venom. It seems like a good one.

I started writing in third person and when I started being good at it, I joined mibba. Since three years ago, I've been writing on first person thanks to mibba and now that I'm good in writing first person, I'm not that good with first person. Like I forgot or something. Sad

I third person is more professional as well but I prefer writing first person more, I think.

I'm very glad you enjoy Roses Painted Black.

Tibet and Jerusalem are very interesting places to write about.

By intertwining characters, I mean writing a story were some of the characters of this story show up to another one without that story being the sequel or prequel.

I don't look for stories often to be honest. I'm extremely picky about what I read. I'll read stuff for friends though if they want, provide feedback. But I'm just weird that way lol.

I used to write in third person but mibba changed that.

    @ Xia;
    Xia;:
I have one that focuses around a psychologist and his patient, Michin and how he's trying to dig into her mind and find out what truly makes her "crazy". They're really complicated to write, in my personal opinion, but its fun and really interesting once you get the hang of it. :)
I have to read that. Wink
    Xia;:
I just decided to do it with my stories Velocity and Catch Me(both listed above). Jin Ae is the main character in Catch Me and its sequel, but I'm giving her--and some of the other characters from that story line--some parts in Velocity. Its a good idea when you can't give some characters up. Also, its really interesting to see what ties you can make with the story lines and the characters.
Great! I'm glad I'll see that in your writings. Cute

I can't help you with western stories because they aren't to my liking, sorry. But, I will start one historical, dramatic and romantic original fiction story set in Japan around 1890. I have everything planned out but I want to finish with The Only Exception, Immortal Kiss and the sequels for my two short stories featuring Avenged Sevenfold.
    Xia;:
The length of chapters depends. Some stories have an extreme impact with chapters that are less than 500 words, but I've read some stories that have 3,000 word chapters and its not enough! It all depends on the content and if the story keeps me hooked.
I agree with you totally. Victory

    1. I haven't written anything that takes place in another country, but i know i've read a ton it's just a matter of actually remembering the titles lol
    2. I've been attempting one like that for awhile now but I don't know that much about the subject so it's reeeaallly difficult, but it's fun!
    3. I really like when people do that with characters i feel like it makes the stories feel all the more real and it's awesome. I've done it once just to see if it would work and it was really cool!
    4. That's such an open-ended question so i'm like uhhh i dont know. I'm usually very impressed on here and can find everything i'm looking for
    5. It's weird because when i write long multi-chapter things i tend to write in third person, but when i write drabbles or short stories i really like 2nd person which is really weird and a lot of people i talk to are like "why 2nd person why why why" and i'm like i dunno, buddy. First person feels awkward to me just because then I feel like i'm the one experiencing everything and it gets weirdly personal and maybe that's how it should be but i'm like no thank you. Honestly, i think which POV is more professional is dependent on how you write in that pov and how well the story flows (if that makes any sense)
    6. I really like reading long chapters, especially on here because the longer the chapter is the longer it'll take me to read it and the longer it'll be until i have to wait for the next one to get written and posted. I'm really into writing super short chapters, though
    7. It sounds like a really cool idea, but since i've never read any on here i don't really have any strong opinions about it

    :)

    1. I have J'adore..., but that's it. I know a story called Venom that's based in Venice, Italy, but I can't reamember the name of the author at the moment. It's about a a girl who is trying to stop a killer before he gets her.
    2. I would love to try, but I just don't know enough yet. I will someday though.
    3. I have played with the thought, but I'm not really sure that I can intertwin my characters because of how mixed they are.
    4. Eh, not really.
    5. I usually write in first person because it is just easier for me to do. I have a hard time with third person. I have a story written in third person which I'm going to post sometime this month.
    6. Honestly, I do all just depending on how I want to convey the story. Sometimes I want the story chapters to be short and simple. Sometimes I want more description.
    7. I'm fine with it as long as they relate with each other. Or at least to where I can see the relation between the stories or whatever.

    1. Sorry nothing unless it was fan fiction
    2. I'd go for it, I love psychological thingys :3
    3. I've done it a few times though it hasn't been on Mibba. Sometimes it's confusing so I would be careful about how I did and with who.
    4. Honestly I've been to busy to really see what is or isn't on Mibba. :(
    5. Personally I love first person, I've read some books in third person and they were confusing. Although sometimes in like a prologue I will put it in a different perspective than the rest of the story.
    6. Hmmm it really depends on what happens in each chapter, I usually end mine with a mini cliff-hanger so it could be short or if a lot happens it could be a lot longer to get to the cliff-hanger part.
    7. I don't really know, I guess it depends more on the topic and each person's writing style.
