I can only truly answer topic 5 and 6 so here
5.) I really love writing in first and third person point of view because those are two of the ways I would actually talk to family in.
6.) I love both long and medium chapters, it gives you more detail to the story and you can get a better connection to it. As in a short chapter I think would be best used for a summary and I will grow tired of the story if it continues on with it's shortness of every chapter

1 Haha, no. It's hard enough trying to write stories set in California, which is a state I've yet to visit.

2 I think anything psychological would be difficult to write because it takes so much information to make it accurate and information takes research. I've never done anything like that, but if you're willing to try, you should go for it.

3 This sounds really cool. I couldn't do it because I write fan fiction and I use the same male characters over and over again. Unless I wrote a story about a parallel universe where they met their long lost twin, it just wouldn't work. Sad

    4 Think I haven't really shopped around, so I can't say.

5 I always do 3rd person because I just have more freedom that way. I can get inside all of my characters' heads and tell a story from more than one angle.

6 The length doesn't really matter as long as something happens in the chapter. Whether it's establishing character relationships, giving insight to a character's background, the first kiss between the male and female leads that readers have been waiting for, etc. It doesn't always have to be absolutely riveting, but I have the attention span of a 5 year old Crazy, so you gotta keep stuff happening to hold my attention.

7 This also sounds cool. I haven't read any, although Roses Painted Black sounds like it's right up my alley. Lick

Hope you got all the answers you were looking for. Mr. Green

    1st:
I have quite a few set in Korea.
Velocity, Catch Me, Wretches & Kings are my main three ones. They're all rated R, with action/drama with the first two and scifi with the latter.
Then, I have one where my characters travel across different countries with their band, I Wanna Be Somebody.

    2nd:
I have one that focuses around a psychologist and his patient, Michin and how he's trying to dig into her mind and find out what truly makes her "crazy". They're really complicated to write, in my personal opinion, but its fun and really interesting once you get the hang of it. :)

    3rd:
I just decided to do it with my stories Velocity and Catch Me(both listed above). Jin Ae is the main character in Catch Me and its sequel, but I'm giving her--and some of the other characters from that story line--some parts in Velocity. Its a good idea when you can't give some characters up. Also, its really interesting to see what ties you can make with the story lines and the characters.

4th: Personally, I'd like to find western stories, set back in the 1800s, but there's very few of them and the one's I have found aren't very good or accurate. I'm currently trying to write one, but its a slow process. More historical fiction, around Asia especially, would be really awesome to find.

5th: Personally, I don't think "professionalism" really can be judged by point of view. I'm sure a lot of people would say 3rd person and I can see why. However, I think as long as its comfortable for you and it works well and is written well, one doesn't need to be more professional than the other.

6th: The length of chapters depends. Some stories have an extreme impact with chapters that are less than 500 words, but I've read some stories that have 3,000 word chapters and its not enough! It all depends on the content and if the story keeps me hooked.

7th: I'm not really familiar with anthologies so I can't say how I feel about them. I think they'd be interesting to do and experiment with if one wanted to. Like with including multiple stories in one similar story line, it would be fun to come up with what ties them all together.

    1st Topic:
Well, my story, Heaven & Hell takes place in various places throughout the world. USA, Saudi Arabia, Tibet, Jerusalem & several other places will be key in my story. No plans for Russia though lol.

    2nd Topic:
I haven't written a psychological piece. I would try maybe at some point, but not sure. I'm just going to keep on my current project for now though.

    3rd Topic:
By intertwining characters do you mean having several characters & changing POV? Cause my story does that & many Star Wars/Star Trek books do so as well. If thats not what you mean then idk...

    4th Topic:
I don't look for stories often to be honest. I'm extremely picky about what I read. I'll read stuff for friends though if they want, provide feedback. But I'm just weird that way lol.

    5th Topic:
I feel most comfortable doing 3rd person. It's how I've always written. For me, 1st person is weird to write. To read, it takes some getting used to, but overall I'm okay with it, though again, I prefer 3rd. Kinda more cinematic to me in my imagination.
To me both are professional if done right.

    6th Topic:
Chapter lengths don't matter in general. Books have a variety of chapter lengths, though I try to do decent length chapters, so medium-long. I do have short chapters, because sometimes they're needed. Overall, it doesn't really matter, but if a story has all short chapters, it's kind of strange in my opinion.

    7th Topic:
I don't have an opinion of anthologies written by other authours on Mibba. Though I guess if they stay true to the story & characters, could be interesting

1st: I do. Not that it's historically accurate. It's about the Persephone and Hades myth, meaning it's set in Greece. From the Darkness. It's PG-13 and more than likely will not go up. It's fantasy with a tiny bit of romance.

2nd: I have tried, but I abandoned it mostly because I got another idea for a story and had to write that. XD I would like to try again or continue with the one I haven't looked at in years.

3rd: I have intertwined a few characters in some stories I've written. I do find it nice, but a bit annoying if not done correctly. Sometimes if the character becomes more of a main character, it sort of forces the reader to read the other story to understand that character's back story. And that really shouldn't happen, in my opinion.

4th: Hmm...I'll have to think about that one because at this moment, I don't remember. I know I had a few...

5th: I feel comfortable writing either third or first person. I am not comfortable writing with the "You did this. You said this. You saw the man out of the corner of your eye." sort of style. It also depends what kind of story I am writing and what would benefit the story more usually decide what point of view I use.

6th: I like medium length. Some times I find really long chapters a pain to read all of it in one go and still be interested throughout the whole thing. Short chapters are like snap shots of what could be a great story. It might work for some stories, but I prefer medium length chapters in the end.

7th: Truthfully, I don't have an opinion on this.

    1) I wrote a piece set in Paris, but I don't think it's that good. This is it.
    2) I'm in the process of writing a story called Drops of Jupiter. It's about a girl who has anorexia, extreme anxiety, depression, etc, all triggered by an accident. She sort of becomes mentally unwell because she blames herself for said accident.
    3) no, because all my stories are so different. There are only two long ones I'm working on, but I may consider it in the future. Now that I think about it, it would be sort of interesting to do that...
    4) There are certain people whom I would love to read fanfics of, but can't find them because I have interesting taste in celebrities tehe
    5) To me, third person seems more professional, only because as you said, details seem to be incorporated better. I personally prefer to write in first person, which I don't like because I tell rather than show.
    6) I have a hard time sitting through a chapter of something with over 1000 words. I don't have a long attention spand. I've been trying to discipline myself to write longer chapters for stories, but they don't ever max out over 800...
    7) Roses Painted Black is the only anthology that I've read, but I have a huge fetish for that story, so I'll have to say yah Shifty

1st: I'm from the UK but most of my stories are set in America, I think writing a story based in a different country is more interesting, you learn so much about other cultures and people's ways of living.

2nd: I've written a story about bullying and the effects it has on someones life, I guess that's psychological to a point! You can check that out Here

3rd: I've never done this before, but I definately think that if there's room to do then why not!

4th: I think there's probably a lot of Historic stuff that hasn't been used, I personally love history and it would be cool to read a bit more involving any aspect (I know a lot has been done)

5th: I prefer third but I can write in first as well, third seems to come a lot more naturally to me when writing. I don't personally think that professionalism (If thats the word) comes into it, if a story is good then it shouldn't really matter.

6th:I'll read anything as long as it's interesting, if it can keep me interested then any amount of words will work. Personally when writing I try to stick to roughly 1000-1500 it's in the middle then, not to long but not too short! I think it's all according what you need to fit within a certain chapter!

7th: I don't mind them, again as long as it's well written then it shouldn't really matter!

    I hope that helped!

I 'm not good when I have to write in present tense. Sad

Originally drabbles have no more than 300 words and till now I'm not sure if I've written any with under 3oo words. Sad

    @ Cali_cookies
I love stories when the characters' lives interwine. Especially when the chapters are from different POVs but end up connected. Cute It's an amazing skill.

    1st topic:
I was thinking about stories in general today, because once again I wanted to experiment on different subjects and what not. So, while I was talking with Asteria, our conversation moved to stories written set in Russia. So I was wondering, do any of you have stories on here set in other countries? If you do, then drop a link here along with some info (genre, rating, type, summary). If you know any good published novels, drop the title of the novel, the author and a little summary if you can.

Honestly I've been looking for some good published erotica that is a little out there and have yet to find some. I haven't checked out all the recommendations yet though that people left me on one of my blogs about it.

    2nd topic:
I'm very tempted to write a psychological piece which will be complicated. Do any of you have written something like it before? Would you want to try? Is something keeping you from trying?

I guess it could be interesting depending on what psychological issues the story is written about.

    3rd topic:
I saw a blog entry by iggy. yesterday I think about intertwining characters in stories. I have done that in some of my stories. Like the main couple from Hell In My Eyes makes an appearance on the second book of the DraMarian series, and from then on, they are part of the series. I find this idea to be very interesting, especially for those who read all of my stories. tehe Have any of you done this before? Do you think it would be nice?

It could be nice I suppose. I don't think I've ever done it before though.

    4th topic:
Are there any type of stories which you haven't found on mibba? What I mean to say is that fro example when it comes to me, I'd love to see a story which is set in Russia and is about the Tsar. I find this subject to be very different from what I'm used to and very interesting. What do you think?

Hmmm, not sure honestly. Sometimes there are never enough sick and depraved killer/sexual interest stories. Not like girl falls in love with kidnapper but maybe....the one character is a murderer and kind of out of their head but the other person ends up being sexually attracted to them[no romance] and ends up not caring that it's depraved lol.

    5th topic:
From which point of view do you feel more comfortable to write and why? If I have to answer that question myself, then I have to say that when I started writing, I wrote in third person. Once I joined mibba and started writing other stories than Blood Pleasure, I got used to writing in first person and I've been using that since then. One of the my writing mistakes is ''show, don't tell'' and I believe I get a lot more descriptive when I write in third person. Lately though, I've been writing drabbles with no dialogue at all in first person and I think I'm doing a good job there. (All my drabbles can be found in the Tales of the Loved Hearts collection) Also, what do you think is more professional? (using first person or third) Is professional a question when it comes to POVs?

This is something I've always wondered....what exactly is a drabble? Like a short story of characters that doesn't really go anywhere or what? I feel most comfortable writing in present tense first person. I can do past tense third person pretty good now. If someone asked me to write something in first person past tense then I just go crazy because it takes me forever. I don't really think one tense is more professional than the other. They are both different and enjoyable sometimes in their own way.

    6th topic:
What kind of chapters do you prefer? Long, medium, short? And why? I like all types. As long as the story is interesting and keeps me hooked, long or short chapters aren't a problem. If the long chapters have a word count above 3.000, then I usually write the medium type 1.000-1.500. These days though, I've started writing Immortal Kiss where the chapters are from 200 to 700 words depending on the main theme of the chapter which is named on the chapter's title.
Hmm....if the story is really really interesting and it has me hooked....then I love when the chapters are long because that means there's more content for me to read and enjoy. Sometimes on Mibba though I like chapters with like 2,000-2,500 words. It keeps me interesting and gives me just enough story without boring me or making me tired of reading.

    7th topic:
How do you feel about anthologies written by different authors on mibba?

I had this idea one year or so ago and the first anthology I created is Roses Painted Black which is based on the Master+Slave=Promises (Contest 2013) which is for all those who love dark erotica or master/slave relationships [BDSM themes].

Well I really enjoyed reading the Roses Painted Black thing. I LOVE those types of stories and never can read enough of them. Pretty creative.

    3rd topic:
I've recently been reading a series, Billionaire boys club, that intertwines its characters lives. I love it but I don't think I could write like that personally.

    5th topic:
I've always written in 1st person, it comes naturally to me. When I try to write in 3rd person, I subconsciously switch back to first lol. I feel like writing in 1st person makes the reader feel like they're in the book and I feel like that's what makes a good book. But this is just my opinion.

    6th topic:
And I agree with as long as the story is interesting I dont care about chapter size.

See I'd write more stories set in Australia but as I write fan fiction, it's much harder. I have to come up for a reason as to their stay and make sure their world works and just... it's easier to have them stay in their own country haha

    This one :)
And this one is set in Luxembourg, which is the psychological one I started.

Come to think of it, most HIM stories I'veread have been set in Finland. So I guess people do write in other countries when it suits. The default seems to be either America or England, though...

I have tried writing something somewhat psychological but I'm not sure that result could be called psycological. It's this twoshot piece, Silent Screams.

What about other countries? In otehr countries than England and US?

I agree with you totally on the POV's, first and third person. Victory

The only think I don't like is when people have long chapters of dialogue that doesn't go anywhere or explains something that's been previously explained. It does my head in. I agree with that as well. tehe

    @ bright lights;
You should try writing out of your "comfort zone". It will help you turn to a better writer. At least that's what I believe.

I don't believe I've found a realistic story set in the time of war as well. I want to read stories which are set in Russia, no matter the genres used.

I don't like short chapters unless it somehow fits the story. I also find that most people who write long chapters add in a ton of incredibly unnecessary details. I agree with that part. Victory

    @ dougie poynter;
I'll have to check those stories out, except for Unit 731 which I alresady have subscribed to. I have read Battle Royale by Koushun Takami and I honestly loved it. I'll have to check the other two soon.
    dougie poynter;:
The man that is pushed into the water in Dive is the same man that forced the young girl from Hardly Golden to drown. I just didn't connect them as sequels because I don't see them as such.
It would be a good idea if you wrote one more drabble with some sort of connection with the two you stated here. Then adding sequels and prequels would be nice. Cute Just a thought.

I have a soft spot for drabbles though. Me too because they are drenched in emotion with only a few words. tehe

Why do you think anthologies break the rules, if they don't? ::shift:

I'd love to do something based of Law and Order or Saw as well. An old friend on here had written something which was liked Saw and I absolutely adored it. In Love

I'm trying something like the Underworld series which is the Blood Sacrifice collection. I shifted away a bit, thanks to watching Vampire Knight though so I'm gonna start rewriting it once I'm finished with the chaptered, ongoing stories I have up now.

It's hard to base a chaptered story based off album because you have to match the content of the lyrics to the story. If we are talking about songfics oneshots, there are a few. I have never tried writing something based off albums, but I might just experiment on it since you gave me the idea. tehe

I'm more used to writing on first person thanks to mibba. tehe

Realistic stories are the best after all. Victory

You are right on that. That's why the one who creates the anthologies has to inform the rest of the authors if their writing style matches that type of theme the story is based on. Think

Oh, no, let's just start here:

Second -- There are a lot of genres that I'd love to try. I'm no good at horror or crime, but I'd love to do something based of Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Castle, or Saw. But I'm really not that good mixing people's thoughts and twists and turns. I'd also LOVE to do something that's PURE Action/Gore, like the Underworld series or Ninja Assassin. I'd also do something video game based, but that's going to far. I'm just not at that point were I feel comfortable in writing those stories... yet.

Fourth -- I haven't seen any stories based off albums, as far as I know. tehe

Fifth -- I like both First and Third, but it depends on the situation. I feel comfortable doing both, but like I said, it depends on the situation.

Sixth -- I like them all, as long as they make sense. My stories have no common ground when it comes to word count. But I think realisim is important(if your story includes realisim).

Seventh -- But of course!Wink Although, if one person's style doesn't match/make sense, then it does kinda throws it off a bit.
