I'm agitated by the women who come into my job with their nails done up, nice clothes, a new iPhone, and whip out one of their five EBT cards. Welfare abuse is very, very common.

I used to get aggravated when people had food stamps but went out and bought pricey new furniture every week but then the next week whined about being poor. I mean....there are people who abuse government help and use money to buy drugs and cigarettes..and those people annoy me...BUT I realized that not ALL people receiving help abuse it. I would rather the whole country get food stamps and help still even if people do abuse it because it does help people who do not abuse it and that don't have a lot. It helps people like you to have food and not starve. Some children and families would not even eat if it wasn't for the help. Some people just don't know how to be respectful to others. Obviously their comment was ignorant.

    This blog.

I remember telling my friend that I couldn't afford something that was over $500 and her argument was, "Don't tell me that when you're holding an iPhone 4 in your hand."

Sprint was giving away the iPhone 4 for free. That's the only reason I have it, otherwise I would've had to keep my old phone even though the contract was up.

I work at a grocery store and sometimes it's very hard not to judge people when their kids are standing behind them and they put back things like bread and milk so that they can afford their cigarettes...

But phones I think are different. They can be gifts and that person may not be paying an expensive monthly fee for it. Maybe they need a phone for safety or for accessability.
