The problem is that it's always strangers... random men on the street that feel the need to make women feel like they're less than others.
It's never people I know. It's random old and young men... even kids sometimes... they make obscene gestures, call after me... they sometimes get really scary but since they're always strangers and there's never really proof of their actions I can't do anything.

It is sad that it has to be this way. I find it very annoying to think that I literally grew up with this...

Where I live, even if someone texts you too much you can have them charged. I have a restraining order on my ex boyfriend because he kept trying to get back with me. I am very lucky to live in a country where we take harrassment extremely seriously.

It's scary to think that for some of you, it's not that easy. I hope the world changes in that respect. It's not fair to have to deal with people's advances when they are clearly not wanted.

Indeed, I am incredibly greatful that for the first time in five years someone stepped in... these harassments have been getting out of control and the worst part is that I can't ever do something about it because basically they don't rape me.
I can't press charges for any of these things... I think it's terrible.

I think it's not okay that we have to accept this and basically wait to get raped in order to become heard. There's a problem here but no one ever notices...

Sounds like you encountered a class A creep. Thin gs will get better, I know from experience, but it takes alot of time. I remember the smells of my harraser, and even now I still cringe at the smell of fancy male colonges and I can't look at men's shoes for fear of seeing his same shoes.

There are so few kind people, willing to put themselves in harms way for others these days. You are very lucky. That man is one of the many unsung heroes.
