Publishing? - Comments

  • 1. I definitely do, once I actually finish something. Cute

    2. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time. I just enjoy sharing my stories with others.

    3. As of right now, I have a specific story I want to publish.

    4. I've been slowly writing for about a year, but I've barely written any of it. I need to do some more planning.

    5. It used to be posted to Mibba, but once I decided I was going to publish it, I stopped updating and eventually deleted it completely.

    6. Yep! I'm thinking I'm going to use Amazon Direct Publishing and Createspace to publish. I don't really want to go through a publishing company because I want to keep most of the rights to my story.

  • 1. Do you want to get published? 2. Why or why not?
I, do mainly because it became a passion of mine so quickly and it's the only thing I feel I'm good at and I want to be able to share that with people.

    3. Do you know which story you want to get published or do you just want to be published in general?
I one way I want to be published in general but also some stories I'm currently working on I want published.

    4. If you know the story, are you currently writing the story you want to publish?
Yes! Two stories- might need editing though

    5. Do you plan on posting the story to Mibba?
Already have one of the two posted.. and writing pre-writes to the upcoming one

    6. Do you have any plans for getting published yet? If so, what?
Actually not.. maybe after the summer I might look into it more. I want to finish school and such before I even think about a new project.

    :)

  • 1. Maybe one day in the future, if I can finish a novel.

    2. I see it as an accomplishment that I can cherish for the rest of my life. It's a big step as a writer that I, and many others, want to accomplish.

    3. I kind of want my nanowrimo novel for last year to be published, but we'll see. But any story will be fine. I haven't really written much that I am proud enough to want other people to read it as a book, but I'll find that one story in the future.

    4. I am working on the story, but it's only about 10,000 words at the moment. As you can see, I completely failed nanowrimo, but that's okay. XD I also have a few stories in mind, but I deleted on a few months ago but am planning to write it again.

    5. I did when nanowrimo was around, but decided to take it down when I stopped working on it. But I'm planning to post it and my other stories that I kind of want to publish on mibba just so I can get some criticism on them to make them as perfect as I can.

    6. Not at the moment because I don't even know where to start, but when I get more information and am ready to begin publishing, then I will try. But that will be in the far future.

  • 1. pretty please

    2. I love absolutely becoming lost in a great book, especially when you need to get away from the world for a little while. I want to be able to give that escape to other people too, so they can forget whatever problems they have for a little while

    3. I do have a story in mind, yeah

    4. as a matter of fact I am tehe

    5. I have two on here actually, Moonlight and The Lost Empire, but they're sort of shorter versions, so when it they do eventually get published/ if they get published (fingers crossed) they'll be a lot longer

    6. I want to finish the shorter versions on here first, then add in the rest of the details and send it to a publisher, or self publish if needed be

  • 1. yes.
    2. there are so many reasons, honestly. and if i got to the root of why i want to, it would be quite a long story. so i'll leave it as this: when i was young(er) i would stay up late at night, like sneaking around with a flashlight under my sheets, reading. as i went through high school i did the same thing. i sat in class and read when i should have been doing my work instead. i fell in love with characters and story lines, etc. some of those stories inspired me to write my own stories… i would love to write something so loved by some other teenage girl that she too stays up way past her bedtime reading and creating her own imaginary worlds inside her head.
    3. i have several. i have 3 finished novels, currently. 2 go together. like a series. and the other is the 1st to a series. i'm halfway finished with its sequel.
    4. yes, i'm working on the sequel. ^^
    5. no.
    6. i have plans, but i'm not ready for them yet. my novel isn't ready for them yet.

  • 1. Yes!

    2. It's been my dream for years to be an established author. I'd like to be as big as J.K. Rowling one day. She's my hero, honestly.

    3. I have a few story ideas I'd love to turn into full-length novels and publish.

    4. Nope.

    5. Possibly, or maybe the first or so chapter. Another user told me there are statistics that suggest stories that are posted for free, but that you can also buy, will gain more readers, because they'll invest in something they know they like. As in, they read the free version, like it, and buy the book afterwards, and that supposedly gets you more readers than just out-right publishing.

    6. I'd like to start off self publishing. Who knows where it will go from there. Hopefully someplace good ^-^

  • 1. That's something I've always been torn on. I've always said I don't want to get published and that I'd rather continue simply posting online for free but I'm beginning to rethink that a bit.

    2. I always said I didn't want to because I didn't want to lose my heart as a writer. I didn't want to become just another writer who did it for money and stopped doing it because they truly enjoyed it and loved what they were doing. I've seen so many writers who publish and then lose their true heart because it becomes all about the money, I don't want my writing to suffer like that. But I guess I've been rethinking that lately. There's part of me that would love to have some of my horror stories publish and become a fairly solid horror writer. But I don't know, I both do and don't want to be published.

    3. No. I haven't really thought about it too much. I need to work out some other issues before I think of doing anything like publishing. XD

I don't think I can answer the rest of the questions. OwO

  • 1. Of course!

    2. It would be wonderful if I could get my stories out there for readers to enjoy and simply love it as much as I do. It would amazing to share the same feelings I had felt when I wrote it, and it would be fantastic to know that I could get feelings out of a reader because I simply wrote something. It would feel like a dream, honestly, if I got published.

    3. Mm, I would love to post something of fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian, maybe contemporary here and there. I think if I worked on Fact of a Day a little bit after I finish it and edit it and all that, that I could publish that one. I also have a dystopian story that I would love to write and publish as well as a vampire story.

    4. I have sixteen chapters of Fact of the Day and a story page for the other two.

    5. Yes!

    6. Not at all. Hopefully, I'll figure out sometime.

  • 1. hell to the yeah

    2. I think it'd be really lovely to have someone read your story and go, 'wow, I really related to that' or 'this story helped me blah blah blah' or something along those lines - particularly when you're just writing a story for yourself and for someone else to see something in it and relate to that (if that makes sense?) idk I think it would be a cool feeling to have.

    3. I'd like Where the Wind Takes Us to be turned into a cute indie flick, but as for actual stories, hmm. I have this one in the works called The Town of Radley that is going to have so much thought and planning into it that I couldn't not publish it. I also have this crime thriller story that I've had as an idea for a while now, but I'd like to explore that genre more before I get too invested in it.

    4. Nope. Radley is in its planning stages and the crime story has the prologue written, but that's about it. Most likely won't even start Radley until the end of the year or something.

    5. hell to the yeah

    6. I wouldn't even know how to publish if I could, so that would be a no as of now. And in no way am I happy with my work enough to even think about publishing. I'd probably edit that shit a crapload of times before I was even satisfied, haha.

  • 1. I do in fact.

2.) I want to be able to write something that people connect to. Even in stories about love and adventure and stuff always has some distinct connection with it and I've always wanted to write something that people feel connected to.

    3. I really, really want to rehash and plan out and re-create my story Crown. I think that there is something interesting there, and if I can figure out how to write it, I would want to publish it.

    4. Crown thooo.

    5. I have been, just so I know if people even on the site enjoy it. Like a test.

    6. I don't actually know anything about publishing, save for the fact that I have a lot of things to do to the story before I ever think of publishing.

  • 1. Do you want to get published?
    Yes.

    2. Why or why not?
I think it's every writer's dream to have their work published.

    3. Do you know which story you want to get published or do you just want to be published in general?
I've been working on this story in Malay language (my first language) but it's still in the research stage. I'm planning on writing a story about a pregnant woman who found out that the baby that she carried will be born with Down's Syndrome and the husband wanted her to abort the baby because he didn't want to take care of less fortunate child but she didn't want to because it's her baby. And the husband wanted to re-marry a second wife (it's actually common practice here and Islam allows more than one marriage for a man so...). And then the dramas and the woman's dilemmas. The second wife was a bitch. I'm gonna tackle very sensitive issues with the story, abortion and polygamy so I need to get my facts straight and thorough.

    4. If you know the story, are you currently writing the story you want to publish?
Opps... I'd answered this in the previous question.
    5. Do you plan on posting the story to Mibba?
Nope, I don't think so. It's in Malay language anyway. Who will read it, right?

    6. Do you have any plans for getting published yet? If so, what?
I'm gonna start planning when I start the actual writing process.

  • 1. Eventually.

    2. I always go into a bookstore and see all of the book and I can't help but wonder What if my book was here...

    3. Yeah I have one in mind.

    4. Not really, I just have to much going on that it's getting pushed to the back burner.

    5. Probably not.

    6. I'll probably go through self-publishing or something like that.

  • 1) It's the dream!

    2) I feel like I bring something unique to the literary world, (you wouldn't be able to tell, because all of my worst writing is on Mibba XD) and I have a message I want to emanate to the willing.

    3) Yes, I actually do have a story picked out. I've written so many drafts I could probably rewrite the intro for you write this second XD

    4) I am currently writing my story, yes. I'm kind of old-fashioned, and I write better when I do this, (because you're slower and you think through your words more. Much, much more personal), but I write all my first copies of chapters on my SMITH-CORONA typewriter, and then rewrite it on my laptop for editing purposes.

    5) Maybe, maybe not. I want feedback, but at the same time I am bleeding through the plot line, and it really is the most valuable thing in my life. (Besides my faith and family of course :))

    6) Not any major ones, but my dad's company has read a few chapters and I have a team of editors who are working with me on getting maybe a paperback soon.....? Shh!

Are you planning on publishing soon? You should!

    God Bless

    xoxo

  • 1. Yup!
    2. I've got such a huge library collection and I absolutely love seeing all the books I have. I also write so much that the idea of seeing something I've written on one of the books I love so much is amazing.
    3. Fragile Things is my main story that I want to publish but it's taking such a long time because I want it to be perfect before I do it.
    4. Yup!
    5. It's posted! Some of it anyway.
    6. I JUST PUBLISHED MY FIRST BOOK.
