  • Mine's Lauren. ^-^
I just found this when I googled my name:

    "Latin Meaning:
The name Lauren is a Latin baby name. In Latin the meaning of the name Lauren is: Of Laurentum. From the place of the laurel leaves. Can also be interpreted as the English version of the Irish name Lorcan: Fierce."

So assumably my very English name means fierce. cx

I love how Hannah's a palindrome! Hm, I don't know how an H would turn into a T, but I suppose there are those people XD

It's cool because if I ever work in Starbucks I'll totally get it right. I'll even draw a lil star or something. Yes lmfao

    @ Synful Cocktail
I know! "Eleen" and "Susan" don't sound remotely the same, they just both end in "n". Facepalm

    @ WASSUP.
I'd be all over that accent like whaaaaaat tehe
Hrrmrmrmrmrmrmmmmmm. I thought it was like "sarliya" with the whole j as y thing Embarassed
BAHAHAHA I usually just type in the whole country name so I don't have to go scrolling and clicking. Otherwise I'd select Chile instead of China.

  • My name is Hannah, which means grace of God. And I guess my southern accent is so thick that when I answer calls at work , they think I'm saying Tana and I have no idea what the meaning is for that.

  • @ scoevve
i have an accent that's a mixture between australian, welsh and croatian and it really sucks bc all my friends laugh and it's like excuse u Hand

and Šarlija is pronounced shaliya, but i guess the american/australian way of saying it is sarlija, with the s a normal ssss sound and the j actually pronounced how it usually is in english. Cool

(and ya my location's austria, but it's like an inside joke, because i suck at choosing my location and always accidentally choose austria bc australia is right underneath it. but considering like 1/4 of my dad's family is austrian, i guess it works tehe)

  • @ scoevve
Well it's actually short from Safira, so you weren't far offXD

It's because it's a pretty common name in my country, I guess. I get mistaken for a lot of people yet I still can't get the Starbucks guys to spell my name correctly hahaha

yeah it kinda sucks that that's happening. omg what sentence what! But like my Spanish teacher was talking about Latin Americans who move to the US and then you have a kid whose first name is like William and then their last names are like Ruiz Lopez. My auntie Tanya's (we're not really related) son is called Dimitri (no clue if that's how they spell it?) which I suppose does to their whole Greek/Russian origins. Or well they're all Greek but Auntie Tanya's half Russian, but she's the only one who's got a bit of an accent, like her husband speaks with like a regular Australian accent and so does her brother.

Oh my gosh I didn't mean to write so much ugh Facepalm But what I really wanted to say is what a cool last name!! And how do you pronounce the Š?

edit; I just noticed your location's Austria. I got a shirt from Austria once that says "No Kangaroos in Austria" and everyone kept on saying "oh my gosh they have kangaroos in Australia" like no that's not what the shirt's saying.

  • my parents get really angry when i use gabrijela bc they go all this is A U S T R A L I A gabe, AUSTRALIA

    @ charity_hope
Ah well, who cares what they think. Besides these days loads of girls are being named what's like """"traditionally male""""" so~**~*~*~*~~*~

    @ crooked
oh gosh the first thing I thought of was Saphira from Eragon XD sorry bahahaha and also how on earth could it be the first time your name's called cool? It's so so so cool. Cool is really the extent of my vocabulary (I just looked through my comments and it's just "cool" everywhere oh dear)

    @ WASSUP.
YOU SHOULD GO WITH THE HRVATSKI SPELLING JUST TO FUCK WITH PEOPLE although it probably wouldn't really affect anyone but the j there threw me off for a mo'
    u r a strong woman of gawd

    @ Synful Cocktail
oh my gosh whaaaat how do people even make that mistake? they're pronounced pretty differently, imo. Think
I've been called "Eileen" or "Ellen" and once "Susan", if that's any consolation lmfao

Ohey double thank you for the double compliments! That's the first time I've had my name called cooltehe It's pronounced Fee-ra. It rhymes with "aura", if that makes it easier.
    March 16th, 2014 at 07:16am
  • lmfao

Thank you. Embarassed But Amal is usually a boy's name. So... people told me to be more lady-like. And I'm like, "so call me Lina, then." And then they'd laugh because they said the name doesn't suit me. Facepalm There's no pleasing people. File
    March 16th, 2014 at 06:59am
  • my name is Raveena and it's Punjabi (I think) and it means "beauty of the sun"
I'm not a big fan of my name. My last name starts with an A, so whenever I say it together it, it just blends and people get confused. But whatever, I'll take it.

  • @ charity_hope
That's pretty darn cool Cool hahaha it looks really weird seeing "cool" and then "cool" for the smiley. Amal sounds really pretty though.

    @ crooked

    @ Synful Cocktail
Yet another person who I'll be looking for during the apocalypse. jk Michelle is such a pretty name. Oh funny story I knew this guy called Michel and we'll call Michel's mum Amy for the sake of the story lmfao So some parent was asking Amy what the name of her son was, and Amy said "Michel", and then the parent was like "no, your son" and Amy went "yeah, Michel". I don't know why I find it so funny that I had to share sorry oops
