It doesn't really take the meaning out of creative writing when you think about it. Creative writing simply means independent writing. A website having standards and requiring proper grammar doesn't take anything away from creative writing. Mibba is a bit different than other writing websites out there in the fact that Mibba does have standards and wants to help its user improve their writing. We're a writing community here and as part of the community, we should be helping each other improve in our writing. Give and take when it comes to feedback and learning, you know?

Mibba is not asking for perfection, they're just asking that users try to write with proper grammar/spelling/etc.. It's understood that typos and mistakes will happen. If a story has a lot of errors, a message like the one you got might be sent. Not because they're trying to be 'mean' or anything but simply because they want to help. These messages are not bullying or threatening anyone but a simple reminder about a rule on Mibba, and proper grammar/spelling/etc. has always been a rule on Mibba. The staff isn't meaning any harm with the messages or the enforcement, they're just trying to help users improve their writing.

With that said, if you or your co-writer would like help editing the story, Mibba's site betas would be happy to help you out. We do require you to do the editing on your own as we want you to learn (and us doing the changes for you won't do that) but we'll point out what needs to be fixed and why the correction was being made. It's up to you though. Cute

A lot of times, I work by writing of my phone in my free time and with certain devices it does not allow you to capitalize like you wish, claiming that the words are wrong. It takes a long time to go back and have to fix your entire story and being a full time student with a job its hard to only take a month to go over and correct every small capitalization mistake.
Also with this being the first time being enforced it does cause a lot of confusion and in some ways chaos as a writer.

Just to join in with this all, I had a look at your cowrite and you just need to put in proper capitalisation, use proper paragraph structure and take out the decorations (the **** at the end of the chapter(s)). I skimmed over it pretty quickly, but otherwise it looks fine to me.

Did the staff tell you what the problems with the story were? If not, could you ask them to point out specifically what goes against the "requirements"?

What story of yours are you talking about? If the grammar, capitalization and punctuation are all right, there should be no problem, I believe.

@ Audrey T Up until this happened, I saw multiple staff and at least one of you admins say you weren't going to enforce it because of various reasons (grammar not being taught in schools, someone not speaking their native language, some people not wanting to get better). But now, you're effectively enforcing it and I think some people have a right to be confused and upset. When the staff are saying, "No, we won't," then turning around and saying, "Actually, we will," it's going to cause a lot of confusion and anger.

The staff didn't announce it because it's always been the rules and when we notify people, we give them time to edit. It's not fix this right now or the story will be deleted. We give most people at least a month to start on edits (shorter if their piece is only one or two chapters in - though never less than two weeks - and more time for longer pieces). If we see that people are actually doing edits or trying to fix up their work, we will keep giving them more time.

I even went back, check the requirements, fixes the few incorrect things and they came back to say I still didn't meet them. That's not true I even got a beta to check my story and fix the errors there as well them the procced to tell me I didn't get/do what the beta told me to fix! This is so messed up.

I think it would've been nice if the staff had actually, I don't know, announced they were going to threaten and bully people into correcting their stories.
