When Christianity Meets Feminism (Again) - Comments

  • To Queen in the North: Please let me know more :) Flesh out your statement is what I mean.

    To Airi:

I believe there is great value in the gender. I believe being a man or being a woman is a great privilege.

I believe a woman can be a leader. I hope I didn't write that off in my post (it's been a while admittedly since I wrote it).

But as I replied in the other article which was rather lengthy; I owe God my life for saving it, so by my choice I am serving Him by sending his Gospel out. No He did not write it, but scholars use the term 'divinely inspired', which to my understanding is God used his Spirit to impress upon men the words we have.

One side note: There are a ridiculous amount of translations... there are too many. And what's worse is there are ridiculous arguments over them. End side note.

All that I say to say this: I am not the master on life, or God. I'm not a blind follower either. I am not like most Christians because I can't claim to be one. Not with the amount of failure that I possess to live up to his standards. I am however indebted to God, and gladly so. So I am going to figure this out as I go. I am not perfect, I am a plain human being. But I believe that God is real, and He can make complete us humans in him.

  • I believe religion has no place in relationships, nor has any right to deny a man or woman the ability to do what they wish with their own life.

  • Honestly, and I mean no offense by this, but this is an example of why I dislike Christianity so highly. This is an example of why I, as a female, chose to leave Christianity and will never return to it unless its views on women have changed. I've never liked the way men are viewed as superior to a woman in Christianity. Women are inferior and what you have said the Bible talks about is an example of how women are seen as inferior and not "equal" as some Christians may claim. Honestly, while I cannot respect your views on the subject, I respect you for not pulling out the "women and men were created equal by God" while also claiming women need to submit to men. You're keeping your opinion solid and I respect that even if I don't respect the opinion in question.

Why does a woman need to submit to her husband and his "orders"? Why is a man automatically superior and takes control over a woman? As a woman, I don't see a reason as to why I need to submit to any man for any reason regardless of their relation to me... Then again, I am also a very anti-authoritarian person that believes all authority should be questioned. But that's a different subject haha.

I personally live in a household where my mother is the leader in every way. As much as I do care for my stepdad, our house would be a mess if he was leader lol... Our house would be a mess if any of us besides my mother was the leader. We need her to keep control around this place. Shifty Having a woman as a leader has worked out pretty well for us. *shrugs*

I don't know. I guess I just don't understand or see why a man is the one who should be the leader in any aspect just because of his gender.
