Neither of her parents are PoC and no one in her immediate bloodline is. While she does not look like the traditional white person, she does not have anything to be considered a WoC. c:

Oh I know it does. I'm simply another one of those selfish people that honestly doesn't care what anybody, colour or not does with their body. I don't see how it feeds hungry children and stops wars so it's not of interest to me. I'm a very narrow minded person, It's my biggest downfall.

Maybe it's different for me because I grew up in a country with white and dark skinned children playing together naked in pools and whatnot, It's a non issue here. Like I said, I'm narrow minded and short sighted about the whole thing.

Plus, I also believe that if you're comfortable with yourself, who gives a shit what some white chick or dude says about your body. I'm stark white (unfortunately, damn you sun -shakes fist-) and I refuse to show my body, mainly because of models. I think it's a models in general issue. I don't really see the colour of people's skin, a person's skin colour doesn't make them who they are, in my opinion. So I just ignore it. If someone's beautiful, I get jealous and don't show off my body. The first gorgeous model I ever saw was Naomi Campbell, after seeing her body I was like "I am unworthy ;;_;;". I think it is just the country I live in, perhaps because it's actually the Maori's land, that race isn't a thing here. Then again, most of my country is stoners so it's all "one love" and whatnot, no fighting, nothing. We're too laid back to care about anything really. We seem to be free of all the race problems going on in other places, however we have a strong [White + Black = Hates Asians] thing going on at the moment (massive influx's in immigration)

Whilst I admire and agree with the article [blog not article wtf], I just don't feel it personally, that's all. Like I said, I'm not really one to give an opinion on anything to do with the race thing, I'm not exposed to it. Dark Skinned girl's here are more desired than us pasty white chicks, haha. Of course there is racism here, but those are about Treaty issues, which I side with the Maori's over - They got fucked over hard.

Thanks for your comments. Although I'm curious to why you don't consider Kardashian a woman of colour? I get that being Armenian isn't her race, and perhaps I could have chosen better wording, but if we're talking about white Western beauty standards, she definitely doesn't perfectly fit those. I don't want to argue as it really isn't my place, but I'm just curious. (And don't feel you have to answer me right away, or at all, get some rest if you're tired and blurry-eyed. :)

Sorry to kind of like barge in on that comment, but this goes beyond celebrities. Kim Kardashian, Keira Knightly, and Nicki Minaj were just examples of how society treats women and their bodies based upon race. (OP come in if I'm interpreting this wrong). When a white woman exposes herself to society in a certain manner, it is looked upon and reacted in a different way than when a black/WoC does the same thing.

Due to many societies having a euro-centric beauty standard, when white women expose themselves it is accepted at a generally higher rate as opposed to when a WoC does it. While white women can face criticism about their bodies and the way they choose to expose it, it is not as harsh as when a WoC does it. (Ex: How many people question Beyoncé's feminism when she decides to showcase things that can come off as sexual as opposed to someone like Lena Dunham who is highly raved for consistently showcasing her nudity and sexuality and affirming that she is in fact a full, sexual being)

There are many factors to this. So many factors to this. It's a very leveled conversation but to save time, in the end game it has a high effect on women as a whole. White women tend to be more comfortable in their own personal sexual beings in comparison to WoC for WoC have a harder time being accepted as such. Therefore when a WoC does come out and showcases themself as a sexual being, it is a political move for they are going against to societal norm.

Like, am I making sense? While you personally do not care what a woman does with her body (as you should) you have to look at the bigger picture and our world and the lines and differences in which we all stand.

Wow.Okay. It's 11:30 and my eyesight is blurring out. Any questions, comments, and/or concerns I am more than willing to add on to this conversation.

I separate it completely, so far as I'm concerned celebrity's don't exist.

I just legitimately don't care what anybody does with their body, none of my business, even if they try to make it my business by splashing it everywhere.

Haha. Then again, I just ignore people. I'm probably not the best to give an opinion on the issue.

Kim Kardashian is not a WoC. Armenian is her ethnicity, not her race.
