i'm so jealous! the cc price is, like, a drop in the bucket compared to this new school, haha. and thank you! ^__^ wow, an oncology nurse — bless her, seriously. that's one job i wouldn't be able to have. :( i wouldn't be able to be a vet tech either; but it's a fantastic job!!

i wish my cc had the pre-nursing students take minimal bullshit classes — gladly would've stayed there if i didn't have to take those dumb classes. the hands-on stuff is what i'm excited for the most, all the labs and stuff. (: i just want may to get here already~

Meh, just want to inject that my local CC is pretty great. But it's the exception, I think.

But congrats on going to nursing school!!! Good money, great job! Difficult but rewarding. My mother is an oncology RN and I'm going to be a vet tech! It's usually a two year degree so yeah, minimal bullshit classes. I had to take English, algebra, social science elective, microbiology, chemistry, and two other electives for my degree. All done, very painless.

Then you do the cool hands-on stuff!

    @ nearly witches.
thank you! i'm so pumped about it. ^__^

    @ kenzii
yay! that's fantastic! i still have to register for mine and i need to give myself time to study for it. D:

    @ fleur morte
thank you! i'm happy, too. :D and yes, exactly. i liked the classes that i took at the cc, but it got so annoying looking at the paper and thinking, shit, i seriously have to take comm 101 and freakin' poly sic!? like i said, i'm not a law or business major — i'm a nursing major. i should be taking multiple bio classes (never available) at the very least, not english and crap like that, haha. anyways, glad that's over!!

I am SO glad to hear you're going to school for something you actually want to do! Transferring schools takes a lot honestly. Back when I was a Freshman, I was looking into switching schools my first semester lol. But, that never happened. So instead I dropped out the end of my Sophomore year because there's no point in going to school unless you're studying something you want a career in. Anyway, it just makes me really glad to see something working out for someone else! I wish you all the luck in the world at your new school!

It's funny that you say that because I was looking at the ACT schedules last night. It'll be awhile until I can take one but I plan to!

they probably are, considering the incredible influx of new students that they have all year long. :/ right before i started last summer, i called to get my account reinstated (i was accepted to the cc back in 2011 but didn't go and yeah) and i was on the phone for two hours until someone actually helped me. it was horrible. and yeah, i understand. my grades were shit in hs, too, but i did much better in college, oddly enough. just a word of advice: the counselor at my new school asked me if i took the sat/act; i didn't, so she said if my grades aren't that great, i should take them. perhaps you can retake them (if you took them in hs) and you could probably get into a four year? i think that's really what they look at.

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! YOU CAN DO IT! don't chase your dream — run like hell after it. :D

    That's wonderful for you!
It seems to me that all community colleges are that way. The one I'm at is absolutely awful. I have the same problems as far as getting help with anything. I'm eventually going to be a dietician, but I need to get my grades up before I can go to a four year school. My high school grades and first year of college were so bad that I couldn't possibly be accepted into a four year school.
I hope I eventually get everything figured out like that!
