I think sometimes people don't really realise what they've just said, by joking around calling someone "retarded". Like, it's such a normal thing to hear, I guess, so people don't second guess it.
Sorta like when it was all the rage to call things "gay" eg. "OMG homework is so gay" in reference to something undesirable. I know for me, I hadn't really thought about what it was saying to the LGBTQ community until I saw someone point it out online.
So, I like this blog, because it's an important reminder.
