I still haven't been able to read Carry On or Attachments AND I'M DYING.
Fangirl is my absolute fav, partly because me and Cath have a scarily similar life. But ugh I just love Rainbow Rowell so much. I have an unhealthy obsession with her and John Green and literally rec Looking for Alaska and Fangirl to everyone I meet
I have Carry On but I haven't read it yet. All of Rowell's books look awesome but I haven't had time to get around to reading any because I've been absorbed in other series
I used to love Richelle Mead and I still like the Vampire Academy books but I read an adult series by her called The Dark Swan and it made me so angry. Like I was legitimately mad at her after reading that series and I haven't read anything by her since because I'm leery about her work now. But I do have her book Gameboard of the Gods and will eventually tentatively read it. Hopefully it's better than the Dark Swan series.
I thought he was with Reagan for a couple of chapters! But as time went on, I kneW HE WAS ALL FOR CATH!! He was so sweet though with all the "oh call me if anything" and he seriously meant it! YEAH THE WALKING OMG. Damn I thought she'd be with nick too but ugh that boy.
And when Levi ate her granola bars hahahahahahahaha I can't even
Yeah that's so true! The hands for sure because it's so just raw and I've never actually read a story like Fangirl's make out sessions. Now that you mention that, RAINBOW IS SUCH A BADASS WITH THE INTIMACY SCENES OMG
@ dawn of light I might. I might just have to do it.
I didn't know it either! When it came out I was like holy crap that's so smart and it made me like their names a 100x more. Although I love Cath. It's not typical but not so weird that it's like whattttt. Levi was just perfect. Him in the hallway! Every freaking day. I died. I was like cath get it! but at first I didn't even know if they were actually going to be a thing or if it was gonna be nick? (Idk if that's his name) and Cath was so oblivious to it and sometimes it felt like he was just being a friend but other times it was like HE'S SO INTO YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN (walking her to and from the library every night like what man)
My favorite thing about Fangirl and Rowell in gen is how she writes like make out scenes. Those scenes always resonate with me and they always feel bigger than it being we like each other and want to get hot and heavy. Like when Cath was all I'm all hands. I was like I GET THAT and I CAN IMAGINE THAT and it just changes the whole scene makes it more intimate without there being sex idk how she does it
DUDE I WILL ENCOURAGE YOU AND I WILL REC THAT STORY SO QUICK
You know I didn't know the Twins' names were like that until it mentioned straight up in the book I WAS SO SURPRISED HAHAHAHA. God Levi is so so so great! He puts so much pressure on boys in real life for me like what boy does what Levi does in the book??! I loved how he would just wait in the hallway for Cather hands down, I think Fangirl is one of my all time fav books. I just can't help but get so much feelings with this
@ gracious; Exactly and she is just making waves with her characters. She writes really amazing detailed authentic characters. It is my favorite thing about her books.
@ gracious; Yo Attachments. Her work is damn like original. She literally wrote a book about two that basically was all emails. Like what. how. ugh. Love it. I read that book last year. It was assigned for my advanced writing course for college. I was pretty excited Rowell made it into my curriculum.
@ dawn of light PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T ENCOURAGE ME CAUSE I WOULD DO IT IN A HOT SECOND I wanna do it so bad. Like I loved Carry On. But it did not give me my fill of Baz and Simon. I need more Baz and Simon. They need way more. way. more. wayyyyy more boy time together.
That was such a brilliant way to name twins. Like it was a sucky situation. But Cather and Wren. Perfection. Levi. Ugh. Levi. I love Levi. I want a Levi. Fangirl is hands down my favorite book I've ever read. ever. (I feel like you're supposed to say that about like classic books and classic books are great and all they're classic but meh whatever if I got interviewed for the times right now I'd tell them my favorite book was fangirl sue me)
WAIT CAN YOU DO A STORY BASED OFF OF BAZ AND SIMON PLS? It needs to happen and who else could pull it off (yoooooou) carry on omg. this whole blog is life. When I read Fangirl, I just love rereading the parts with Cather (her mom was a genius naming her and her twin ahahha) and Levi it brings so much inspiration to me
