I emailed them earlier and now wait for a couple answers to the questions I posed in the nlog.

They're no better at answering calls, especially now since one of the people they fired was their prime receptionist. It's a good really sucks deal.

    Dang, that really sucks...

If I imagined myself in your position, I'd be absolutely concerned about that situation and would feel inclined to pressure the company for more detail before I felt persuaded enough to commit to them. At the end of the day, you're offering them your time and skills, so I think they owe it to you to answer any questions or concerns you may have - especially in terms of official start date.

If they're not responding to email, try calling? I find that calling really moves things forward a lot quicker than emails do most of the time. Always arm yourself with questions, and preferably a piece of paper and pen/blank Word document to fire their answers into if you don't remember well under pressure like me. If they don't even respond to/answer calls after so many tries over a period of days then I'd start to really find them questionable. Good luck!
