Do You Remember the First Time You Read Fan Fiction? - Comments

The first I read was definitely an A7X fic, but I had been writing long before I discovered Quizilla...because that was how I entertained myself with no internet in the house. Lol. My first story was about the Backstreet Boys and I wrote it when I was 10 or 11.

My first fan fiction was back in the summer before I started 8th grade. I was trying to look up a photo that I really liked of Max Green from Escape the Fate (because I was soooo into them at that time, along with Falling in Reverse) and I stumbled upon a slash one shot on Quizilla. It was called "Finger on the Trigger to My Dear Juliet" a lyric from the ETF's song, Not Good Enough for the Truth in Cliche. I remember the whole plot too. I was so awed this existed, because I didn't even know fan fiction existed, so it got me hooked on looking up more and here I am, trying to go back to finishing up all my old fan-fictions.

I'm pretty sure my first fanfic I was in the 6th grade and it was Fall Out Boy or Avenged Sevenfold, honestly it could have even have been a Bam Margera fic. I read a lot. They were all on Quizilla!

Yep, I was 10 or 11 and started off reading Dream Street fan fiction. That was 2000-2001. I was instantly hooked and started writing my own. I still have the very first story I wrote. It's awful, but it was the beginning of everything!

My first fanfic that i found was probably for this anime called Tenchi Muyo. And it was on an website called Tenchi Muyo Fanfiction Archive (Too bad it's down now). Although I can't remember the title, I do remember it was a Christmas one where the characters celebrated their version of CHristmas, which was the Star Night Festival (come to think of it, it was probably called the Twelve Nights of the Star Festival or something). It was a bit cheesy but i loved it. Another of my first fanfics was this Sailor Moon/X-Men Crossover called Stars Above and omygosh it was one of the best damnedest crossovers I've ever read! It's still around and finally completed after 12 or so years of being up. linkage! The story went under a major rewrite in recent years but it still retains the same core idea it had when i first saw it back in 2002.

YES. OMG. It was during my obsession with the School of Rock, when I was in the 8th grade, so... 2003/04? I was so in love with Freddy Jones that I looked him up everywhere, hahaha. And I was looking through the comments or fourms or whatever on IMDB and I came across a 'fanfic' and it was only like .. 5 chapters? BUT OH MY GOD, I was so excited. And then I found some fansites for the actors and forums were on there as well and I joined and found more fanfics I'm actually still friends with two of the girls I met on the first forum (kevin clark), as well as another girl on another forum (joey gaydos jr).

And then someone shared a link to "Girl In An All Boys Boarding School" by youandmeboth on Quizilla, and... HERE I AM.

The first story I remember really loving was a Ville Valo fanfiction. It was the longest story I'd seen on Mibba and was definitely over 100 chapters. Part of me thinks that I first found it on Quizzilla, but I'm not sure if that's true. I still remember the entire thing. I reread it a few years ago, but haven't looked for it in awhile. It really was great.

I just looked it up and it's still here. Scream Me A Dream. I can't believe it was finished in 2011. According to her profile, the author was on a year ago, but I think that was a one time thing since there's nothing else "recent". But her HIM story received 1890 comments. That honestly blows me away. There were only about 20 when I found it.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. It's insane how far we've all come with writing and Mibba. :)
