that makes sense. Well, i prefer original most of the time like with what everyone else said. Definitely go with original if you're that inspired and want to really branch out.

I started writing fanfic and did some of my best work. Now I'm in the process of rewriting them and switching from FF to original. I say that if you have the inspiration to go with original, just jump right into that! You'll be able to pull in more readers and won't be limited in what you can do with the world/characters. :)

I agree with ugly lights. As a reader on this site, I prefer original but of course you can always do fanfic if you like :)

I kind of prefer original fiction. Sometimes with fanfic, I never know the fandom and I end up confused as all hell sometimes.

yes, but (i dont think i explained it that well) I have one idea right now but I don't know if I want it to be a fanfic or ofiction.

tbh you can always do both, especially if you're not quite ready to do write original fiction only and are still wanting to do fanfiction.
