I get like this, plenty! I just posted a blog posts with my various story ideas of 2017 and they are all over the place. I really dislike that I cannot just sit down and write any of these stories, but that I have to wait for this mood thing you speak off. it's annoying, but at least i know something good will come of it when i do write in such moods. i just have a hard time getting there these days. but yeah, i get there xD

It happens to me a lot to. A sudden burst of inspiration where you just have to get it all out on paper, common for the passionate writer.

Oh man my notes app on my phone is just a clusterfuck of story ideas or character/plot ideas that i like to think will be put to good use one day but who knows ^^ i have no faith in myself to remember anything

and yes! being inspired is good! i just feel a little bad because i do have a pretty established readership, so i always feel like i'm disappointing people when i tease a story that never comes to be or completely drop it. i've decided with this second story that i'm going to pre-write at least 15 chapters before posting so i don't fall behind in my updates (as i tend to do ooops!)

    Short answer: yes

Long answer: All the damn time. It usually happens when I get a little stumped with one story. The other idea is just there, percolating, and I'm like, "Hm, I'm more inspired by this plot instead!" So I drop the original manuscript, start the new one, and then get stumped. Then the cycle repeats. I'm trying just to write down the other ideas - characters, tone, what scenes I have and then will try to come back to it once I finish the other (original) idea. So that way I don't just have a bunch of loose pieces haha. But at least you're inspired! That's a good thing. Better to have too many ideas than none!
