@ mccree. That's kind of what I was thinking. I know that there's a lot of "You stole that idea from me!" mentalities amongst online writers and any time I see it, I just think "Yeah, and you stole it from a dozen other people."
I think ideas are free. Unless it's blatant plagiarism or close enough to be suspicious, I don't have a problem with stories maybe having similar core ideas and plots behind them. There's so many directions to go with every idea or plot, that's what's fun about being a writer I mean, Twilight made vampires insanely popular and billions of YA writers took the same ideas and plots but made them different, so anyone can accomplish anything
