I definitely love Illumicrate, it's the one I'm subscribed to and is far more affordable as it's a quarterly box instead of monthly. So yeah, I'd recommend that. But FairyLoot is also amazing - I've only got one box so far because that was the only theme that appealed to me, but that box is monthly so subscribing to that isn't feasible for me.

I haven't tried any others, but I do really love OwlCrate and feel like it's really good stuff for the price. Plus I like that you can do a month to month plan and skip months if need be. If you want to try one out and see how you like it, I'd definitely recommend OwlCrate tehe

Would you say Illumicrate is your favorite? I'm trying to look into which boxes I like the most because I'm so tempted to splurged on these.

    @ aurora borealis.
Thank you Arms I was thinking that too (getting a rise out of me) and it sucks that someone would do that.

And would you say OwlCrate is your favorite? OwlCrate is on the top of my list right now because after watching so many BookTube videos I just love the goodies they supply and they seem to include some great books.

I don't think you're stupid at all. If she can defend her culture, then you can defend yours. I don't even get why that would bother her. And it's really rude of her to trash on Italians especially knowing that you're Italian. It seems like she's just trying to get a rise out of you and then make you feel bad about it, which is shitty.

As for book boxes, I actually am subscribed to OwlCrate! I really like it. I subbed back in October on a month-to-month plan, which is nice because you can cancel whenever and you can also skip a month if you want to; if you don't want to spend the money that month or if you're not interested in the next month's theme. Otherwise it renews automatically till you cancel or skip. I've gotten some really good books and some really cute little goodies through them. And since the books alone would normally be like $22, I think the $29.99/month is a really good deal for everything. (It's technically $36 for me when you factor in shipping but still). I've gotten candles, jewelry, even a Peter Pan beanie one month. lmfao

Sorry about only replying to one part of your blog, but I LOVE book boxes. First heard about them because of owlcrate but then discovered that shipping overseas was so not worth it (sadly), so I looked around to find some based in the UK. I'm subscribed to Illumicrate currently and I love it. Sure, there's some things I get that don't appeal to me, but I wouldn't have picked up any of the books that I've got through without the box, and the last time I got one it came with an ARC which is always a plus. She also somewhat regularly includes two books which is even better! The author writes a letter, signs a bookplate and all that jazz which is cool. The bookish items we get depends, but in the last box we got socks (which I was sooooo happy about!), lipbalm and some other things I can't remember because the box is at home and not at uni with me. I've also got a box from fairyloot before, only because the theme seemed amazing to me, and I loved what I got in that too.

You've got to be prepared to get things you might not like (but really, go based on the theme) and books that you might read and end up not being your cup of tea. It's a really good way to come across new authors and get items from small businesses that operate on the web.
