  • Do people like reading long chapters or shorter chapters?
For me, it depends on the story. Some stories work well when they have longer or shorter chapters. But, of course, that's all up to the author. However, a lot of times, I don't usually have time to read a super long chapter if I'm on here on my phone since there isn't really a way to show where you stopped.

Do people like more dialogue or no?
Again, it depends on the story. Some stories don't really read well if they are chalk full of dialogue with not much description, especially if the story depends on some background information. I personally like a mix of dialogue and descriptions because that's what I tend to write... except I write more description than dialogue because that's what I'm used to.

That's true, everyone prefers different things!

  • All of those questions are just a readers preference. And you can't please everyone. For me, personally, I would not read a chapter that is 3,000 words. I like chapters on the shorter side, and I do enjoy dialogue. But someone else on here might prefer the exact opposite of me.

I feel like just write what you want.
