those are some good questions to ask. Let's hope they respond well to those questions. Cute

I haven’t explicitly asked that, but I did come up with a few questions that could steer than in that direction! After combing through some articles on “how to get good feedback from critique partners/beta readers,” I shot them all this message
    Quote
Okay guys, I just compiled some questions for you all to hopefully answer in your feedback to me. You can - but don’t have to - do your usual line comments but I mostly want focus on these:

    1. What works? What should I do more of?
    2. What didn’t work? What should I cut back on?
    3. Is anything confusing?
    4. Did it keep you engaged?
    5. Are there any issues with the dialogue?
    6. Was it easy to follow and understand?
Hopefully these will steer the discussion into a more productive direction.

I did a critiquing group thing back in high school for one of my english classes and I had mostly the same problem of people never telling me what they like about my story (or essays if we writing some sort of persuasive essay). But it turned out that a lot of my classmates in my group were a bit intimidated by my skill of writing. Like maybe it's the same in your critique group? Have you tried asking one of them or anyone if they liked anything about your story/writing?
