I kind of know how you feel. Excpet it was with my dad of course my parents are split now and I loved having my dad around, I still do like he spent this christmas with us and I was just so happy but sometimes he can be cold.

But yea I don't think my dad is in a right mind he puts everything before us, like he took advantage of us. just kind of do what she says and stay out of her way, get liek an mp3 or ipod and maybe a book or soemthing you liek to do and just go in your room if it gets that bad. But really unless there is liek another family member you could explain the situation to and live there, theres not much you can do.

But you have no idea how much I can relate to this., Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, but like I said, she's always been like this to an extent, so I'm not sure if it's down to menopause. And as for staying with friends, I have few friends. Let alone friends that I'm close enough to to be supported by accommodation wise.

    Menopause.
That's the only thing I can think of. My mom was like this for a while. Not so much anymore since my brother and sister have moved out.

I really don't know what to say that will help. There really isn't anything. Maybe just staying out of her way, or just not being there.
Or, maybe you should go live with a friend for a while and she'll see how much you really mean to her and she'll change.
I'unno. I always just had to tell my mom to grow up and she snapped out of it.
