Things don't make sense here (mibba) - Comments

  • One more thing: if you don't fix the 'not following guidelines' thing, what happens?

  • I AGREE!
It says one of my stories is not following the guidelines. But I have five stories! How can I go through every single one to find a single period that was misplaced? They should at least say which story it is. That would help a lot. Gggr.

  • OK so Ive come back down to earth and realized that the date of the ban wasn't what i thought it was because Americans post their dates different to Australians. eg. American - MM/DD/YY
    Australian - DD/MM/YY

So its not as bad as i thought and thank you everyone for posting comments i did know somethings previously but i was really just a little peeved mostly.

    Anyway thank you =]

  • None of these rules are new. It's old rules, but a new way of getting them out there. Mibba is a creative writing site. One of the aspects of creative writing is being able to edit and improve you're own work. You don't have to edit it, as long as you accept that if you don't it'll be taken off the main list.

And as for the banning from messageboard thing; the 'no chatspeak' thread says you should use proper capitalization, apostrophe's, etc, etc. It's not like the warning isn't there.

  • not to be cruel, Idee Fix, but sometimes the shift key doesn't want to be kind to you and your little uncapitalized I is left the drown in the sea of words. I agree with everything else, expect for that. [':

  • The story guidelines have always been there. Now we're just encouraging you to check your work yourself as it will allow you to learn what you're doing wrong and perhaps fix it in the future.

If you don't know what story it is, and don't want to go through them all then just wait for a few days and you'll be told.

You also don't have to edit your stories if you don't want to.

  • "FYI the mibba spell checker does NOT pick up on "I" being un capitalized."

It's basic knowledge to capitalize the "I". With or without the spell checker, you should know by heart to capitalize the "I".

About the "At least one of your stories...", since you can't go to the message boards, here's what Dujo said:

    "FAQ
I don't know what to fix, what should I do?
    - Nothing! Wait a day or two and you'll get a list of errors you need to fix

    I've fixed it, now what?
    - Just wait for further instructions."

Hope I helped a bit. *leaves*

  • I agree with the whole warnings thing.
I was banned without a warning once. I think that it would be a great addition to the site, if we were to be given warnings before any banning took place, so that we can be given a chance to change our ways before we are actually banned for it.

Maybe we could suggest it to someone? But I have no clue who... I only know the site's rules and have no clue who to suggest this stuff to... is it Dujo or the mods that we suggest stuff to?

  • I agree with the whole (doesn't catch the I) but it does catch it in the I'm unfortunately. I guess all those quizilla people will have to check re-check and maybe just for fun make a story checking party because they're stories are going to critiqued pretty fast.

    :]
