My Nan & Wonderful Family - Comments

  • Ah, that sucks. My grandparents were cheated out of their "twilight years" when my Papa dies in 1972. My Nana is about to turn 95 this month and still lives in their little house, a few miles from her daughters. God, aren't there apartments where your grandparents can live together? I suppose they'd have to be on the same page health-wise...but I'm glad your Nan is better.

  • Update: My grandfather has been told that he's not "bad" enough to meet the criteria for residential care, so yeah, looks like thay'll have to live out their twilight years apart. Yes, he will be able to see her everyday and yes, he'll love the fact that he can keep his dog, but just because he wants to be with my Nan, doesn't mean to say he needs to be there. He's pretty cool about this; he just wanted to know for definite whether he was going or staying. Now he knows he's staying at home, he's happy with his lot. He just gets on with it, bless him.

Just thought I'd let you all in on the info.
