I think that the sole fact that you are working to be a good person says alot about you and your personality. Some people dont even try to change they just think its hopeless, but you strive to be different than what your DNA states and I admire that.
Dont give up, its going to be difficult no doubt, but in the end it will be worth it .

It's pretty scary to think that we're all turning into our parents, huh?
It can happen, of course, but I say you shouldn't allow the panic of this possibility to take over you. You're not your mother, you're a teenager, who, at times, might have a tendency to alcohol or, worse, suicide. It has passed many people's minds. I've drunk a bit myself.
I guess the best, yet the harshest advice would be : don't take yourself too seriously.
