Is it just me?
I don't know why, they just sound incredible together. I get excited when band's collaborate with Hip Hop artists, it's different but still work's incredibly well. I could not imagine Country and Metal mixing, or Blues and Grunge mixing, etc.
For example, Linkin Park & Jay-z? Very good mix, Run DMC & Aerosmith? Also a great mix. It just works. There should be more Hip Hop and Rock/Metal collaborations in my opinion. Maybe it's the beat of Hip Hop and the Riffs of Rock that go well.
Most Hip Hop fans would not usually "hang" with Rock fans, they seem like two totally different crowds, so in mixing the two genre's it brings different kinds of people together as well, which is a beautiful thing.
This is a fairly short journal, but I saw Walk This Way by Aerosmith and Run DMC on tv and started thinking, I just wanted to write about it.
