Work Experience Journal - 1 of 5

Okay, so this is more for my purposes than interest really. I'm doing it so I can remember it all properly, in order to translate it into Welsh and German for my courseworks. I had my first day of work experience today. I did it in the German department in my school.

My mum and brothers dropped me off at 8:45 this morning. When my teacher came in, she asked me to sort out German booklets into sets of 30. Fun =]

Then it was first break, but I stayed in so I could finish off. Halfway through lesson 2, the teacher that was 'monitoring' me (Frau/Mrs Godfrey) was like, 'Lois!' and all the year 7's were like...'who the hell is Lois?' So I had to go and help another teacher (Frau/Mrs McIntyre) with a load of German trip money. That took forever, and I had to do it while sitting in on a year 7 lesson. I saw my friend Ruby's sister =]

At lunch, I went with Frau Godfrey to the staffroom, where pupils aren't supposed to go, but she let me in. Oh, she's lovely =] and because I was sitting all alone at a table, she came and sat by me and told me all about her indigestion, which, to be honest, I could have done without. She's pregnant by the way =] Oh yeah, and one of the teachers went 'for fucks sake!' and she thought it would be funny to cover my ears and go 'excuse me, there is a child in the room!' Which I didn't find funny at all.

Fourth and fifth period I was asked to make a display on trips in the German department, namely the Zell-am-See trip and the Austria trip. That was fun xD However, it was very tiring.

Ok, that was one out of five journals about my work experience, I've allowed comments but obviously I'm not expecting you to. Tomorrow I get to help some year 7's and some special needs classes, I'm so excited, I can't believe I was dreading this week. I get worried too easily.

Tschüss!
