Atheist is too harsh to describe me.

I don't have a religion, but I wouldn't call myself an atheist. When someone says the word atheist, it just sounds too harsh. Probably because when it's used it's not always in a pleasant way.

Just because I don't believe in some sort of god(s) doesn't mean I hate all things religion and can't keep my mouth shut on my opinions about religion. Yes, I think a lot of it is hokey, but I don't want to bash anyone. Your beliefs are your beliefs.

Anyway, I've just been noticing that some of the atheists on this site, namely the ones posting articles, take the opinon thing too far; bashing others for what they believe. Not only do they look bad, but make all atheists look bad. When I say bad, I mean look like loud mouths who go around bashing Christians, who have a pessimistic outlook on life and like to start fights. It makes them no better than the religious people who go around preaching and saying you're a horrible person and bad things will happen to you if you don't believe. If God is really as fair and just as they say He is, He'll forgive me for not believing in something that my world, one filled with logic and science, hasn't proven real (at least not to me).

There are so many more important issues in life than religion, such as global warming, discrimination, our health, fuel, the everlasting quest for world peace and so much more that if we put as much time and energy into as we do bickering about religion that could have been solved by now.

So this is a request- no, not even a request; a suggestion that we should all just cool the whole religion debate, let others believe what they want to believe and ignore what others are doing, because in all honesty, I could care less about if you think what I'm doing is wrong or right, it's how I see life and how I want to live. Let's not all forget about the golden rule. No matter what religion you believe in, there is a form of this golden rule and even if religion isn't your thing, it's still a great moral code to live by.

So please, just consider it. Think of how much better off we would all be without the constant fighting! Thank You.
