Has anyone noticed that in music, if a band's first album is good, but not too great, the second album tends to be much better? Example: My Chemical Romance. This may be only me, but not many people I've talked to like their first album the best, and I know I love their second album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is much better, even than the third.
And in books, the first is almost always the best, and the second is rarely close to being anyone's favorite? Take Twilight for example, [I know Twilight-haters are probably so sick of all the talk about it, but it's a good example to me], that everyone loves Twilight but New Moon is just about always everyone's least favorite book in the series?
Just a thought.
