What quote makes more sense?

Me and my friend were fighting about a quote she made up, and we were debating on what made more sense. Please don't take the quote! Opinions would be very helpful.(:

"Everything in the world seems to be sugar-coated, but once you look at the harsh reality, you see the truth, and things that were once your world matter so little now."

"Everything in the world seems to be sugar-coated, but once you look at the harsh reality, you see the truth, and things that were once your world matter so little anymore."

I think that the first one makes more sense.
