Eighties teen movies...sigh

I'm not usually nostalgic about decades I wasn't present to see, but I wish they still made movies like those in the eighties.

St. Elmo's Fire, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. (All encased in my favourite song right now)

And they all just break out in dance moves! Why dont they do that in movies now!?

Oh Molly Ringwald, why cant you still be seventeen? Why can't I steal your wardrobe from The Breakfast club (those boots!)? Why do we have to generalise people in movies about teenagers these days. People were so much cooler back then.

Evidence of this:

(If you've never seen Pretty In Pink before, watch out for a young version of that guy from Two and a Half Men)

Sigh. It may be the decade responsible for mullets, Cyndi Lauper and aerobic wear...but god love the eighties.
