my day and guess the song all in one!

first off, happy fourth (: sadly it's rained all day here, but alas, we midwesterners love our fireworks, and a little drizzle has no effect on how many we inevitably will set off. and we don't care if the cops show up. we'll tell to grab a beer and a chair and settle in for the show.

i was setting one off last night (or attempting to). it was a 3 incher, and i was like all in my stance, arm stretched as far as I could, desperately trying to get the lighter to work. it wouldn't catch. i probably stood there for 2 minutes. but it finally caught, and I ran like a bat out of hell.

what's your fav kind of firework? i like the ones that are bronze-ish, that rain down...and the smilies...

anywho...my neighbors (where i was lighting the fireworks) had a family get together this weekend so i hung out with them last night and most of the day today. it was fun. we don't care about rain in iowa. we will sit on our decks in our chairs and drink a beverage of choice. mother nature be damned. give us a hurricane, we don't care (:
