I wrote this as a paper for my summer reading project. I had to compare myself to the main character of a book of my choice. Just thought I'd post it, because I liked it. :) The format was different on microsoft word, but it messed up when I copied and pasted it, so I didn't turn in my paper like this, and its a little short, but it only had to be three fourths of a page :) enjoy
Upon reading "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian", I noticed the many similarities and differences between me and the main character Percy Jackson.
Percy and I are alike in many ways. Percy and I both love being with friends, and would do almost anything for them. Multiple times in the book, Percy risks his life to save his friends and family, I haven’t had to risk my life for them, but I would if I had to. Percy and I also both were raised by our moms. Percy and I also both love animals. I have seven dogs,
and Percy can talk to horses because his father, Poseidon the Greek god of the sea, created horses out of the foam of the oceans’ waves. Although Percy and I are alike
in many ways, there are a vast number of differences between us. To start out,
Percy is a boy, and I am a girl. Another way Percy and I are different, is that Percy is, as I mentioned before, is the son of the Greek sea god Poseidon, making him what they
call a demigod. In addition to the fact that Percy is not completely mortal, he is also dyslexic and has A.D.H.D, which is common in demigods. Their dyslexia is caused by the fact that they shouldn’t be reading English, seeing as how his father is a Greek god, he should be reading Ancient Greek.
His A.D.H.D. is caused by his ability to stay alert in battle. Another way Percy and I are different, is that Percy is extremely brave, and can charge into battle without any doubt, I on the other hand, can be extremely cowardly. Percy’s best friend is a satyr, a half human, half goat boy, named Grover, and my best friend is a mortal.
Although Percy and I have many differences, the few similarities we shared made
"Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian" easy to connect with, and effortless to understand.
