Life, Love, Beauty, and... Buddhism

I'm considering converting to buddhism. I guess it's not really a conversion, because I don't really follow any religion to begin with, and I guess I already have adopted it whether or not a made a conscious choice to do so. I was reading this book Girlosophy by Anthea Paul and realized that a lot of the principles it contains that I agree with are principles of buddhism. Since these ideas have helped me in the past, I really do think that this will be good for me to work at again now. I do feel more relaxed and just all over better after I meditate; it's like taking a shower on the inside, clean and refreshing; but I don't know if I will chant. I would probably feel really silly. And I don't think that it would work, either. I think that we choose our own fate with out actions and therefore we must be left to face the consequences ourselves. It is our life's work to prepare ourselves for those encounters as best we can. I wish you all luck on your own journeys. Wish me luck on mine!
