Research - 11th grade

I don't exactly know if you have to do a research in grade 11 but we do. And I was horribly freaked out. Not at the start but when people started picking the subjects. And I have to mention that every teacher takes 2 students from the classes they teach and help/instruct them through the research. So many of us don't get what they want. And you should have seen me yesterday. I was like a living zombie. I was depressed and mad. I felt just horrible.

Why?

Because I couldn't find the topic.

It may seem easy at first. Yes, I felt like that last year and in the beginning of 11th grade too but when the time to choose approached I didn't know what to do. I thought about family tree but I decided that I won't do that because I don't have enough information.

Oh, yes, I forgot. The reason it was so hard is that some people don't get the difference between referat (term paper?) and research. And that's why it's hard to pick a subject. For example, math. It has been researched through and out so the only possibility is to research some really high level math or some other bad choices.

The same with history, there are no other good choices because you have to choose something that hasn't been researched thoroughly and that's hard if you reach that point that you really need to decide.

Anyway, now it's easier. I finally managed to decide.
And I chose to do a translation from Russian to Estonian (Russian is my 3rd language)
So I thought that I could pull it off so I decided on that.
I have to inform you that in languages you can do a translation instead of research.

Oh, I really am forgetting everything.

I wanted to do an English translation too but when I went to see my English teacher she made quite clear that she didn't want to instruct us because she thought that we have too quiet voices to defend our work (Yeah, we have to defend our work in front of the commission/committee) I went to talk with her with my friend and she really has a quiet voice but me? I really was pissed off. So anyway, I decided on Russian book translation.
