Character profiles...Yay, or nay?

Hello to all!

My first journal post, yay! I’m using this entry to reach out to anyone that reads stories on Mibba, even if they’re not mine.

You know how there’s an option on here for character profiles? Do you prefer stories that have profiles to go with it, or does it make no difference?

I have a few profiles saved to my computer, and for the main character her profile is really detailed. I considered posting it up along with the others but I was afraid that readers wouldn’t get to know the characters through the story. But at the same time, I had a thought that maybe people would want to read a specific story if they saw how the characters were---characters with personalities that clash, ones who people imagine getting together (or want to see how it happens), etc, to see how a world with these characters would exist.

So, if I was to make profiles for my characters, do you think it would help or hurt the story? All opinions and comments are welcome :)
