Little Bo Peep and a Shepherd's Crook...Help?

Anyway, this year I'm going to be Little Bo Peep and my mom is making it again. If you have looked in the party stores, the Little Bo Peeps this year are...awfully...weird...

Unfortunately, I do need a crook and it seems that none of the party stores nearby have it. We're still looking but I'm currently assuming it is not going to be at any of the party stores. So I have a question for you.

How would you go about making a Shepherd's Crook? From the way things are looking, it looks like I need to make it and I want it to look decent (not like a stick with a coat hanger) So any ideas?
